With Killzone 2 already sitting pretty amidst Playstation 3 owners shelves, and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Heavy Rain on the horizon, we can't help but feel inFamous, which releases next month, hasn't quite got aboard the hype-train yet.
Which is bizarre because every single preview we've read (and we're talking a number of sites here: GiantBomb, VideoGamer, IGN, GameSpot, Eurogamer) has been overwhelmingly positive about the game. Yet the fanfare that followed Killzone 2 is surprisingly non-existent, even when that game had some serious sceptics debating its progress.
The lack of hype for a game which is obviously shaping up to be beyond excellent must be both worrying for Sony and Sucker Punch — particularly when this game is being promoted as Sony's blockbuster Summer release.
Having not had a chance to play the game yet, we can only assume the similarities between multiplatform release Prototype as the cause of inFamous' lack of fanfare. But even then, Killzone 2 released in a similar timeframe to FEAR 2 and still managed to uphold its cult following.
It's honestly something that we could discuss until blue in the face and still not get the answer, so we're going straight to you, the reader: inFamous is undeniably shaping up to be an absolutely fantastic game, why aren't you excited?
