We already new that PS Vita will be able to download and play PSP games, but how the multiplayer aspect would translate was still unclear. Now Sony says that certain PSP games that support ad-hoc multiplayer (play between two local, wirelessly connected systems) will carry that multiplayer functionality to PS Vita.
This means if you download a PSP game to your Vita, you can then join up with any local PSP running the game for some co-op (or competitive) gaming. Ad-hoc Party would presumably work, but Sony points out that some PSP titles are excluded, so it is unknown whether PSP games enhanced for PS Vita will remain compatible.
