The official WipEout 2048 Twitter account has teased that it is “alive” this afternoon, causing mass confusion amongst PlayStation fans. Regular readers will recall the sad news regarding developer Studio Liverpool’s closure earlier this year, but it seems like something is bubbling behind the scenes.
Exactly what, we’re not entirely sure. There are a throng of theories surrounding the story right now, one pertaining to the continued employment of brand community manager Ami Nakajima.
Other more complex narratives claim that the majority of the Studio Liverpool team was actually folded into Studio London. All of this information is hearsay for now, and we’ll update when we learn something a little more substantiated.
While you wait, you might want to check out our The Making of WipEout feature. It’s a fantastic read if you’re a long time fan of the franchise.

But what does it mean? Are they still the same admins as before? So many unanswered questions...
@Shiryu Sony's issuing a "no comment" on the subject. There are a load of theories being tossed around, but it looks like we're not going to find out anything certain just yet.
Hope they announce an reopening tonight!
WE. ARE. ALIVE.
