Dead Space 3 allows you to spend real money to upgrade your weapons – but you don’t necessarily need to engage in the shady practice to unlock the ultimate Plasma Cutter. An exploit discovered by the fine folks at GameFront allows you to farm as many resources as you like – and it’s unlikely to get patched, according to publisher EA Games.
"The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch. We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We've deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game," said company spokesperson Jino Talens.
According to the organisation, the microtransactions model is merely a convenience option. "For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost," Talens added. We’re not entirely sure what’s worse: mind numbing repetition or wasted money. What do you reckon? Let us know in the comments section below.

It's just not serious enough for me either way. If it was competitive on-line maybe but the game is easy enough (on all difficulty settings) to beat without grinding or spending extra money.
I truly miss competitive multiplayer. But Co-Op is my new fixation anyways :3
