It looks like that blast of Phil Collins has done the trick for Dead Space 3. Chuffed publisher EA Games has announced that the title’s recently released demo has already been downloaded by almost two million people across multiple platforms, which represents a ten per cent increase over Dead Space 2.
Pre-orders for the upcoming co-operative shooter are also outdoing those of its predecessor, but it’s unclear by what margin. The company previously revealed that the sequel needs to break five million sales in order to make its investment worthwhile. We suspect that the executives that set that target have bigger mental health issues than protagonist Isaac Clarke.

Maybe they mean 5 million micro-transactions
That statement was made last June, about 9 months ago. Considering all the bad press recently with overall game sales, Vita sales, Wii U sales and the usual amount of bad EA press in general, I'ld say given the opportunity that guy would drastically downsize that 5 million number.
Not.
Gonna.
Happen.
@rjejr I don't think it was ever going to happen to be honest. The sad thing is, that might mean the end of Dead Space.
Hate when I forget to add in the link.

Fair warning - Pachter is quoted, but he's a very small part of the article.
Going by all the fan feedback I've seen this could seen to be worse for the francise in the log run, unless the reviews are glowing (which I doubt after playing the demo) I'll pass on this.
I played the demo and enjoyed it. I thought it looked good.
