How much make-up is required to transform a real man into Kratos? A lot, if this behind the scenes documentary is anything to go by. The video details the production of God of War: Ascension’s recent live action trailer, which was aired during the online stream of the Super Bowl last weekend. It’s incredible just how closely actor Brandon White resembles the character once his makeover is complete.
The second part of the documentary outlines the construction of the Spartan army, which amazingly was shot with just ten men. As explained in the video, Quantum Creation FX used a slew of fancy visual tricks to give the appearance of a much bigger unit in the final trailer. It also created all of the costumes and armour from scratch. Now that’s dedication.

Quantic Creation FX should do all of Sony's commercials from now on. The From Ashes ad was fantastic, and I would love to see what they could do on a live action Killzone or Uncharted ad.
From what I understand, Quantum Creation FX actually does the cut-scenes for the God of War games, too.
