Buried amongst business terms, Ubisoft confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed game is in development during its earnings call earlier this week. The title will supposedly star a new protagonist and will be set in a fresh time period – but, unsurprisingly, additional details are scarce.
Development is being led by a different team to Assassin’s Creed III, though there’s no word on who’s taking the reins. We imagine that, as usual, the publisher will have multiple studios working on different components of the game. The title’s due out at some point between April 2013 and March 2014, but history indicates that it will be ready around November.
We’re still secretly hoping for a Victorian London backdrop, but we suppose that anything’s possible. Where would you like to see the series head next? Let us know in the comments section below.

I just hope they don't rush the production and release as AC3 was pretty shoddy.
victorian london would be cool they could even do a mission where you have to try a stop jack the ripper
You guys a re a little late on reporting this one
If it incorporates more easy traversal then I'm all for it.
I'm a fan of the series but I really think they need to take a break at some point. This isn't like CoD where the singleplayer campaign is just there and the main focus is multiplayer. I don't like the idea of annualization on any franchise but at least with sports and FPS it's understandable, something like AC though should be at least 2 1/2 to 3 years between releases to really make each game, and its story, as strong as possible.
Considering the distance between games has been around 300 years, it should be set comfortably in the 2100s...
edit: I actually hope it's the first civilization ever, like the guy suggests
i love assassins creed games but ac3 was abysmal.
This was very obvious
