Mark Cerny is a busy man. When he’s not being inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame, he’s busy architecting hardware and creating new games. Knack was the first PlayStation 4 title announced during Sony’s next generation bonanza last night, and centres on a pint-sized protagonist who possesses the ability to transform into a gigantic wrecking machine.
“The result is gameplay which is a little bit like Crash Bandicoot, and a little bit like Katamari Damacy, in that the Knack can get quite large indeed,” Cerny explained on the PlayStation Blog. “There’s also a touch of God of War in there, in that there is an epic feel to the game in places.”
The title was shown running on PlayStation Vita during the press conference, highlighting the PS4’s new Remote Play functionality. You can check out the platformer’s first trailer in the space below.

This actually looks a bit neat. Needs more remote play details though.
That's cute, looks fun, and has great gameplay potential.
looks great and fun
I was really surprised they started showing off the PS4 with such a kid-friendly looking game, I expected KZ4 or Watch_Dogs or something more photo-realistic.
It looks like Astroboy invades WoW, which is a good thing if you can attract both sci-fi and fantasy folk w/ 1 game.
Anybody have any idea how much of this was in game and how much was CG? If this is all real then they've finally achieved the Pixar goal that they've been promising since the PS2 promos killed the Dreamcast.
The graphics have stepped up a notch, this proves it.
