Bethesda may have turned its attention away from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in favour of a more grotesque experience, but that’s not stopping the publisher from repackaging the title with all of its DLC. Eurogamer.net reports that Polish retailer Ultima is currently accepting orders for the Skyrim: Legendary Edition for the PlayStation 3, which includes the main game alongside expansion packs Dragonborn, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard.
The title’s listed for 169.90 zł, which works at about £35/$54. Seeing as the DLC’s quite expensive, that actually looks like a pretty decent deal if you haven’t played the epic adventure yet. In fact, if you’re hoping to save money for the PlayStation 4, this could probably keep you going until well into the holiday season.
The publisher’s yet to officially confirm the re-release, but we all knew that this was coming eventually. The retail listing mentions a 7th June launch, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it got properly announced over the next couple of weeks. Is this something that’s on your radar? Yes! I have been holding out for this!
Never tried skyrim I might give it a try.
@Epic You should, it's awesome!
I have never tried any of The Elders Schrolls games but I'm looking forward to this!
@get2sammyb Never played before because people keep telling me that it was kinda unplayable for countless glitches but it looks like its alright now =3
@Epic It's definitely still buggy, but it's playable. As long as you make plenty of saves and back your data up to the cloud regularly, you should be fine.
It has been entirely playable since patch 3. Personally I have spent more than 200 hours playing this game. which is more than double any other game I have played. Yes, it is awesome.
glad i decided to wait, i had a feeling they would do this because they did it with Oblivion
I REALLY wish they would put this on PSN. I all ready have it on disk but would get in again in a second if I could download it.
After I turned off auto save I had very little problems with the PS3 version. It did freeze on me a handful of times but I other then that it was fine.
Boring box art much?
@AceSpadeS - Well, the original wasn't anything to write home about.
It's exactly as buggy as every other "good" game with lots o data! PS3 always gets frame rate drops etc., so don't throw out the baby with the bath water.
Every TES game is amazing : ) give Bethesda your money! (I would, but I bought all the DLC day 1).
I think I'll rather get it on PC, less hilarious bugs but lots of mods available
At this juncture, Skyrim should run fine on PS3 - especially if you being a brand new game after installing the latest patch.
However, to say Skyrim has always been fine is preposterous. My main PS3 save has over 300 hours on it, and it's crashed more times than I can count. I eventually gave up trying to play it.
Anyway, the point is if you've been looking into buying Skyrim for PS3, this is your best bet. It undoubtedly works better now than it ever did - again, especially on a brand new save.
@ShogunRok Interesting. I've had it for a while, but I haven't gotten much more than a few hours into Skyrim yet. Would I be better off starting over now to avoid glitches with my save file? Would it make that much of a difference?
@get2sammyb Great reference to Enjoy The Silence!
@Squiggle55 Chances are if you haven't put too many hours in you'll be fine. Older save files that have encountered bugs and things like spawning issues are problematic because that messed up data is saved onto your file, essentially making it a permanent thing.
Because the last few updates fixed a lot of these problems, starting a new game is highly recommended - this is because the patches aren't retroactive. Anything already screwed up probably won't be fixed.
In summary, if you haven't actually done much in the game yet you should be fine. If you want to play it really safe, you could always start a new game. Hope this has helped.
