Surely this is the year that we’ll finally see The Last Guardian again. Regardless of whether it’s still a PlayStation 3 release, we don’t think that the platform holder can get away with another E3 without showing the title. Either it’s cancelled – and given creative director Fumito Ueda’s recent comments, we don’t think that that’s the case – or it appears next week.
An update to the Entertainment Software Association’s website recently offered hope for the latter, as the site listed the game as part of Sony’s booth. “Come back here on Tuesday, June 11th for all of the latest details, straight from the E3 2013 convention floor,” the page reads, adding that the hotly anticipated title will deploy on the PS3.
Chatting with Eurogamer.net earlier today, though, the organisation shrugged off the entry. "The page on the ESA site is speculative, I'm afraid,” a spokesperson said. Of course, it’s possible that the company’s just being coy until next week’s reveal. However, the official E3 website also mentions Warrior’s Lair, which has almost certainly been scrapped at this point.
Do you think that The Last Guardian will make its long overdue return next week? Which platform do you think that it will be on? Let us know in the comments section below.

Sony's final big game for PS3?
@rastamadeus Personally, I hope not. How many more big 'final' PS3 games are they going to have? First it was The Last of Us, then Beyond, then Gran Turismo 6...
One way or another...
@get2sammyb Personally I hope it is. I have no interest in getting a PS4 for at least eighteen months.
@rastamadeus I think that's fair. Would this make you reconsider, though? Furthermore, if we assume that this doesn't release on PS4 until next christmas, you'll only be waiting six months to play it if you stick to your 18 month plan, right?
@get2sammyb if they release next christmas then its going to be a buzz kill rather than an amazement because it was shown off what.....over 5 years ago?
I refuse to believe. This Game, Agent, and Versus XIII are never coming out.
@ViciousDS Haha, yeah, that would suck. However, I'd just be delighted to know it exists again!
@get2sammyb Sony could announce they've bought Nintendo and will have the next 3D Super Mario as a launch game and I won't be budging my stance. Only had the PS3 two years and canny afford to go throwing money at the PS4, especially after buying the Vita (I love it but it's looking more and more like Sony don't). Even if I came into money I want to see what is going on with pre-owned games first. Plus, as I've said before, buying new consoles at launch is always a silly thing to do. A few months later the games dry up and you have nothing. Been stung too many times to ever buy at launch again.
I'm filing this under - believe it when I see it.
I might have to play it a bit later if it becomes a PS4 game (assuming it comes out this year), but at this point I honestly hope does. I agree with Sammy that the PS3 is getting enough last games now, possibly too many. I think it should be on PS4 now just to help push the console. People need reasons to push square on the PS4.
Also, does anyone else think that cover art looks beautiful?
@ all of you: Sony trolls you all! Big suprise its for vita ( It was all part of their plan xD)
Personally I think PS3, but I would prefer PS4.
I wonder, if Fumito Ueda will get to make more games
i hope its for the ps4
@artemisthemp I would love to see Fumito Ueda - now he's not Sony-only - tackle Legend Of Zelda. Him, Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma all collaborating on one game would be a wet dream. It'll never happen but would be absolutely fantastic.
Oh goodness, pleeeeeeeease let it come to PS3/4 soon! All this speculation is driving me crazy
I REALLLLLLLY hope it comes out. Preferably for both consoles.
