How Does Final Fantasy X HD Look on the PlayStation Vita?

With the PlayStation Vita’s release schedule looking a little dry at the moment, the upcoming Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster has become one of the handheld’s most anticipated games. However, with publisher Square Enix’s promotional efforts focused predominantly on the PlayStation 3 release, how does its handheld counterpart stack up?

The answer’s pretty well, if this two hour demonstration is anything to go by. There are some minor frame-rate judders during gameplay, but the overall visual quality is fairly impressive. Those pre-rendered cut-scenes are going to look especially sublime on the portable’s enormous OLED screen. Is this compilation on your radar? Toss a blitzball in the comments section below.

The game is looking pretty great. I'm thinking I'll probably pick it up for Vita - JRPG's just feel at home on there. Also, "Ti-die for" and "Yuna you want it" may just be the two best things that have ever happened to me.

@k_andersen Yeah, I'm going to get it on the Vita, too. I can't really see myself playing through it on the PS3, but can definitely picture myself chugging through in bed and stuff on the Vita. I'm actually quite excited for it.

Final Fantasy X was the last Final Fantasy I ever played and I loved it, so this is definitely on my radar. I'll be picking up the Vita version since I want to be able to enjoy it any and everywhere.

I loved FFX and will so be picking this up, I might even get both the PS3 and PSVita versions

Wow, I'll soon be able to play the first ten Final Fantasy games on one handheld! You can't beat that!

I'm probably going to buy both versions, by the way.

Will pick this up for the ps3 since it wont appear on the 4 which is a shame. Looking forward to it tho, this was the last decent ff game before square just about went bust because of that terrible movie.

Already pre ordered! Game looks great. Looks like March is going to be a great month for the Vita.

Picked this up on vita on Boxing Day and ps3 when I got home on the 27th from visiting family. The vita version of x looks good, and because of the smaller screen arguably better than the ps3. It's a shame that there are still quite a lot of low res textures on the ps3 version of x (check the al bhed that tidus meets in the ruins near the start of the game).

Other than that, it does look much better overall and is refreshing to play in full HD. Not played x-2 yet other than making sure it installed ok on the vita.

And not sure whether this is surprising, but so far, mechanically, it's identical to the original.
