PlayStation TV

Software lineups for new hardware launches are often a subject of much scrutiny, but the PlayStation TV is bucking the trend with an enormous roster of 700 or so titles available on day one. The miniscule microconsole will play a wealth of PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable, and PSone Classics out of the box, meaning that you’ll likely never run out of titles to try.

Due out on 14th October in North America and 14th November in Europe, the diminutive device will be available in a couple of guises. In the United States, you’ll be able to pick up the standalone system for $99.99, or as part of a bundle including a DualShock 3 controller, an 8GB memory card, and a copy of The LEGO Movie Video Game for $139.99. In Europe meanwhile, the teensy set top box will come with Worms Revolution Extreme, Velocity Ultra, and OlliOlli for £84.99.

So, why would you want to buy the slender system? Well, in addition to the impressive selection of software, it’ll also let you stream PlayStation 4 games to different rooms, and will, of course, be compatible with many of the apps currently found on the Vita – including YouTube and Video Unlimited.

You can find out more about the games selection through here for North America and through here for Europe. We’ve also included a new trailer which highlights some of the benefits of the box in the space below. We don’t know what it is about this thing, but we’re eager to buy it – even if we don’t really have a use for it at all. Do you feel the same way, or do you think that it's a waste of money?
