Software lineups for new hardware launches are often a subject of much scrutiny, but the PlayStation TV is bucking the trend with an enormous roster of 700 or so titles available on day one. The miniscule microconsole will play a wealth of PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable, and PSone Classics out of the box, meaning that you’ll likely never run out of titles to try.
Due out on 14th October in North America and 14th November in Europe, the diminutive device will be available in a couple of guises. In the United States, you’ll be able to pick up the standalone system for $99.99, or as part of a bundle including a DualShock 3 controller, an 8GB memory card, and a copy of The LEGO Movie Video Game for $139.99. In Europe meanwhile, the teensy set top box will come with Worms Revolution Extreme, Velocity Ultra, and OlliOlli for £84.99.
So, why would you want to buy the slender system? Well, in addition to the impressive selection of software, it’ll also let you stream PlayStation 4 games to different rooms, and will, of course, be compatible with many of the apps currently found on the Vita – including YouTube and Video Unlimited.
You can find out more about the games selection through here for North America and through here for Europe. We’ve also included a new trailer which highlights some of the benefits of the box in the space below. We don’t know what it is about this thing, but we’re eager to buy it – even if we don’t really have a use for it at all. Do you feel the same way, or do you think that it's a waste of money? Let us know in the comments section below.

Well I'm looking forward to it. It's kind of a bummer that there are so many good Vita games that won't work, but I'm also getting it to smarten up my dumb tv which currently isn't connected to anything except a wire out of the wall giving me about a dozen channels. Already have a bunch of Vita games from PS+ so for the low cost of entry - considering what a DS3, memory card and game cost separately - I'm looking forward to seeing what this thing can do.
Who knows I might even play Minecraft. If we get that free w/ the PS3 version we purchased. Oh, Sly Cooper free at Walmart. Not my favorite store but maybe.
I'm excited that adventure time is coming to vita....and did anyone notice that some psp and ps1 games that don't work on the vita now will be on vita tv so will they store be the same? Example like burnout is not on ps vita store but will be compatible with vita tv?

@tonyp1987 Yeah, hopefully it encourages Sony to give the whole Vita interface and storefront a spring clean to be honest. I think there are some PSP games that do work with Vita, they just don't appear on the Store. You have to download them to the PS3 first, or something. It's stupid.
@get2sammyb I hope so too...i cannt believe adventure time is coming to vita I thought that game should have already been on vita but atleast it's the new ps3 game coming in October 18
@get2sammyb I meant Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is coming out Nov 18 for ps3 and vita now
@Bad-MuthaAdebis Remember that the UK price includes tax, though. I don't think the US one does.
If anyone wants a break down for this new system it's
PS3 controller is $55
Lego movie is $30
Total is $85
So that makes the ps vita tv $55 that's cheap
I cant wait to get one.
i know it's off topic but doesn't anyone find some strange omissions on PSone & PS2 classics, not just Vita but PS3 too? E.G. Every Syphon Filter except 2, UmJammy Lammy (Spinoff to Parappa the Rapper) but no Parappa, Medievil but no Medievil 2 or Vib Ribbon or Primal or Ghosthunter? I mean Sony own these IP's, so it shouldn't be a problem right?
Felt kind of tempted but gravity rush isn't in the games list so that throws me off a bit
What a load of poop
I can't wait for it, even though I already have a Vita... But I wonder what the price is going to be here in Brazil...
Can you watch netflix on this thing?
With my Vita being stolen not too long ago, I think this may be a decent route back to the console myself. Barely took the Vita anywhere, preferred my PsPgo, so I'm not fussed that it isn't portable. There's a lot of titles I'm missing playing at the moment. Think I best go check that compatibility list first & hope the upcoming Senran Kagura titles will work with it too....
@MadchesterManc in Japan it's compatible, hope xseed brought the update here
Seems like a nifty device, and I can definitely see how useful it could be if you had kids or something.
But as for me, I own a PS4, and I own a Vita. I don't need this in any way, shape or form. Even if I didn't own a Vita, I still probably wouldn't buy it. I'd just rather buy a Vita for 100 bucks more, where all the games will play and won't look outdated blown up on a larger screen.
The one potential selling point this thing has for me, is if it would allow me to play Borderlands 2 on TV with a controller. If it can do THAT, I might just get one. I absolutely positively cannot stand playing that game on Vita with the control scheme it has (which just comes down to lack of buttons)
@Midzark I hope that doesn't count as trolling otherwise you haven't tried it yet so of course you will say that!...
Vita TV's problem is the same as the regular Vita, Hyperexpensive propietary memory cards.. but I think the memory prices are even a bigger issue for something that pretends to be a cheap entry level microconsole...
@tonyp1987 Then there's the 8 GB card.
@Enobmah_Shards sorry I didn't mean it to sound like i was Trolling! I'm just not a fan of the Vita, so can't see this being anything Great to me, will stick with the PS4 lol
@Midzark You do realise this is the PlayStation brand right? But more power to you if you like PS4.
@Demi_God Yes it does. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, pretty much all the media apps available on PS Vita
@Chouzetsu Netflix ain't
@artemisthemp It doesn't?! Well no buy for me then.
