Sony got its ass kicked in the last NPD report – but it doesn’t seem especially keen on taking another beating. The platform holder has teamed up with a slew of American retailers in order to prepare some last minute PlayStation 4 bundles, and they’re pretty decent if you’re in the market for a machine.
Amazon’s offer is probably the best, as it includes a 500GB Jet Black console, a DualShock 4, a PlayStation Camera, a copy of The Last of Us Remastered, and a voucher to redeem Destiny, Far Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet 3, or NBA 2K15. That will set you back $439.50, but was being sold for $399.99 until recently.
Meanwhile, Best Buy’s selling the Glacier White PS4 Destiny bundle – which includes a 500GB console, a controller, and a copy of Bungie’s first-person shooter – for a clearance fee of $399.99, which is some $50 cheaper than MSRP. That’ll be available both online and in-store until 27th December.

And Microsoft have been getting their ass kicked all year to Worldwide & in Europe the Xbox ONE has been Left for DEAD Good deals anyway. SONY could of easily beat MS if they started this at the beginning of November. Oh well.
Not really "big" bundles... I don't want Last of Us again; I already played it on PS3. What are some valid reasons to get a PS4 now, as opposed to waiting till Black Friday 2015?
@FlipNiggle The most underrated reason of them all: it's really difficult to go back to the PS3 once you've seen how convenient the PS4 makes everything.
Haha my buddy said it seems more like a PS3.5 (basically a PS3 with better performance). I don't know, it does seem that way...
@get2sammyb Well I agree that the PS3 is pretty frustrating... compared to Xbox 360. So I guess I should ask, why should I get a PS4 now if I already own a 360, PS3, Wii U and a newly acquired Xbox One (bit on the Black Friday deal)?
A friend told me about the Amazon offer, and like I told him, all of those games are on PS3. If that voucher promo was for a white PS4, then it could be different.
@sinalefa Exactly. @Carl-G I mean I know the PS4 has outsold the Xbox One, but why? Just cause it was $100 cheaper and Microsoft screwed up when they announced their console? Why buy a PS4 now? I have all the consoles except the PS4 and I'm not convinced in getting one of these "big" bundles. Someone convince me...
@FlipNiggle
You should get a PS4 because Microsoft is a moronic company who doesn't deserve anyone's money.
However, if as a consumer you don't feel Sony has done enough to warrant $400 of your $ (which they haven't, in my opinon), then sit tight & enjoy your PS3 until Uncharted releases.
At this point, Microsoft hasn't done squat either. They only dropped the price by $50 & their best exclusive is a remastered collection of Halo Xbox 360 games.
With either console you are, essentially, paying for what's coming. Not for what's here now. Both consoles have been a disappointment, software wise, but hopefully that will change in '15.
@FlipNiggle Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, Street Fighter V are a few of my upcoming reasons although SFV will be on pc too
@FlipNiggle Better performance, gameplay, graphics, & contoller. My kids still click the PS3 on, but I have all but lost interest. Since Driveclub came out I haven't touched GT, The Last of Us (didn't play on PS3) was exceptional.
I guess for me PS4 has resparked my gaming interests. I was ready for a change though, so I anticipated the release anxiously. I have had a few disappointments, mainly the lack of media playback, but doesn't affect gaming obviously.
For me, its kinda like when we were going from VHS to DVD; sure DVD looked great, but you didn't truly notice the real difference until you popped a VHS back in and were like "What is this crap." That may be a little exagerater in terms of PS3 to PS4 visuals, but you get the point. I am not a PC gamer, so the improved console graphics are always exciting.
@FlipNiggle Because you like 1080p in your games? Because it's still (and always will be) 30% more powerful than the XB1? Because the multiplatform games look and perform noticeably better on the PS4? Because it's not the size of a Volkswagon, like the XB1? Because of the free PSN games (if you have Plus)? Because of the near-flawless (over your WiFi) play with the Vita? Because of the inevitable God of War game? Because of Uncharted 4? Because of Street Fighter 5?
If you need that much convincing, stick to your XB1 and last gen system. They still play games.....
I'll just note that it's a good thing that Sony still holds platforms...
it's about time Sony began doing COD, dragon age and full on fps bundles if they also want to win UK/USA territories. Destiny is getting old and gamers are sick of the damn game. In 2015 i'd like to see titanfall 2 bundle on ps4, a Witcher 3 bundle and a final fantasy 15 exclusive bundle. bout time Sony got aggressive and play m$ at their own game! !
I'm still patiently waiting for the inevitable 1TB $300 PS4 Bundle, even if I have to wait until Black Friday 2016.
Sony isn't trying to take a loss on the cost of making the system! They are however willing to take a loss on software though since all of them had there debuts but man sony is playing smart.
