Square Enix has gone ahead and announced the cancellation of Final Fantasy Agito+, which was due to release on the Vita at some point in Japan. The role-playing game known as Final Fantasy Agito launched on mobile devices back in 2014, and its aforementioned enhanced edition was announced for Sony's handheld machine last year, too.
However, after being slated for a January 2015 launch, the title was delayed, and there's been no mention of a new release date ever since. It comes as no surprise, then, that the publisher has pulled the plug on the project, stating on Twitter - kindly translated by Gematsu - that it had ceased development of the game.
Apparently, the mobile release was actually quite enjoyable, and was a reasonably big success in Japan, so it's a bit of a shame that it'll never see the light of day on the Vita. Although having said that, any sort of localisation always seemed unlikely to begin with.

I still think type-0 would have been better off on the vita, versus the ps4. Print this from mobile devices was a very lateral move in Japan, especially since mobile is so much more popular as a hand held gaming device compared to actually gaming devices.
I feel like I hear of a new FF game every day! How many are actually in development?
This sucks thx Square.......
@Dodoo They work on 60 a year. Thing is, most of them get scrapped. The ones that don't take 6 years to work on.
@DerMeister lol, 60 a year sounds about right!
Damn
I love Type0 and was really lookin forward to this
I mean there are several other games to look forward to but I just love FF
This is upsetting, was interested in trying out Agito eventually.
