There's some discontent with Sony's decision to charge for PlayStation 2 titles on the PlayStation 4, but personally we're loving the Trophy enhanced retro releases. And so we're excited to learn that several more classics have been rated by the ESRB, including sight jacking horror sim Siren and the excellent Ape Escape 3.
Other titles include role-playing threequel Wild Arms 3, demon slaying game Primal, and Okage: Shadow King – we don't know a whole lot about that last one to be honest. In truth, the Japanese giant's doing a great job of selecting titles that have some cult status, but may have been overlooked the first time that they deployed. There's no date for any of these yet, but it's safe to assume that they'll all launch in the New Year.

Always wanted to play Primal. Will definitely play Siren again - cool game. Never played Ape Escape 3 either but remember it being well received back in the day.
Cool additions.
hmm cant find the [ps2 classics on the eu store but I went on my us account and they are there maybe they are correcting the versions instead of the 50htz pal version for eu
@SKC_Diamond Have you tried searching?
@get2sammyb yea tried to search for grand theft auto only gta 5 and searched up dark cloud and it wasent there
Primal is great but I never finished it. I think it will be the first PS2->4 game, I am going to buy.
@get2sammyb just tried again they weren't there I don't know if its something to do with the nz store but I'm sure it uses the eu version because eu codes work on it and us codes don't
@SKC_Diamond
Try this link

@Melucine weird it seems when I click that link it works but searching it up it doesn't come up on the nz store
@SKC_Diamond IT is strange, but at least that's something for now.

On the UK Store, there's an icon in the new releases section for PS2 games. Maybe you'll find something similar there? As usual, the PS Store is a nightmare to navigate, though - they need to add a "PS2" category to the store shop front.
@get2sammyb They just need a revamp of the whole store in all honesty why cant we use the keyboard built into the ps4 instead of this annoying select one letter at a time thing
Still no Onimusha. Damn you Sony.
@stevie85 It'll come. Patience, padawan.
Wow...haven't played Okage the Shadow King in a very long time...don't even have my PS2 version anymore! Will definitely pick it up, as it was fun to play a child with an evil shadow!!! Great classic title that will definitely be a 'purchase' for me!!!
@get2sammyb Any words on a full list of upcoming PS2 games, or just a small fraction within the next few weeks???
@get2sammyb I'd kill many younglings to get my hands on it to be honest.
@JLPick What is Okage? I've honestly never heard of it... Feel a bit bad.
Ahh my kids gonna love ape escape
As a horror fan I'm seriously stoked about Siren. It's such a unique and interesting horror game. Although I kind of hope they include a Japanese voice over. The English one is bloody awful.
Can't wait for ape escape, I've got the first 2 but haven't played the third.
Don't know any of these but I guess that is precisely the idea, to "discover" games I missed the first time around.
I remember the original Wild Arms. The intro song will never leave my head, and that is exactly how I like it.
Call me when Timesplitters arrives, preferably Future Perfect.
@get2sammyb
If Tim Schafer were to make an J- RPG, you'd get Okage. Just play it!
YES APE ESCAPE 3!!!
I wish Sony would make a new Ape Escape and use the Move controller as an optional controller
@JLPick I use the NZ store and the PS2 games have been there since they launched. Should be there under new releases. Picked up Rogue Galaxy last week so definitely works.
They need to hurry up with Dark Cloud 2! Though I haven't finished my latest run for the trophies, but it'd be nice to have the sequel secured.
I'll be checking out Siren for sure though.
I don't think I'm interested in any of these, but I love seeing the variety displayed here. Keep it coming Sony
@stevie85 I'm waiting for that too. I missed them first time round but remember really wanting to play them
@Melucine the link does not work for canada psn users , hope we will be getting them today when the store updates as it does on tuesdays here
@Godslayer1975 the link is for the EU PSN store
I'd love to play Siren again! You guys in US missed the sequel, right? I wonder if they are gonna release both games...
@Boerewors It would be crowd funded & unfinished?
@stevejcrow
Lol! In a way it is unfinished, because like most Tim Schafer games the novelty wears off after a while and so- so gameplay replaces the jokes and a solid storyline with interesting characters the game started with. But ultimately I wouldn't want to have missed out on both Okage and all TS games I can think off at this moment; the overall feeling the gamer is left with is positive, that's why TS's projects get crowdfunded all the time
@Boerewors I'm just glad you understood I was (mostly) joking. Forgot the smiley face!
@stevejcrow
Haha, it was a good joke too! Just come up with 20 of those and try Kickstarting a game I'd say!
Wild Arms 3 was the first game in the franchise I played, and it's become one of my favorite RPG franchises. Definitely getting it, and highly recommending it. Hope it sells well enough to get the rest of the series re-released.
@get2sammyb
OMG!! Okage!! This was one of my first games! You're going to like that game! It's a JRPG with designs that look a little bit like Nightmare Before Christmas. You play as someone named Aru, and while trying to save your sister you lose your shadow and get possessed by an evil Spirit named Stan. Now you're stuck having to help him on his quest to defeat the other "False" Shadow Kings. It's pretty funny.
Day 1 for me!!!
I need Star Wars Battlefront 2!!!! But we will never get that will we? Considering I'd play that more than the new one, even though the new Battlefront is really fun gameplay wise if you enjoy most of the modes like me.
Very interested in these ps2 games and the ones they are releasing. Still have loads of physical ps2 games to play but I'll definitely pick up dark cloud in the new year.
Waiting for Dark Cloud 2.
@get2sammyb It's either a boy or girl that you play, who gets a curse on him/her...their shadow then forms as an evil shadow that you also control. Other than that, it's just a normal adventure-type platform that's not too bad. If I remember, it came out 2 years into the playstation 2's lifespan and wasn't a big hit, but it's still a fun little title to look into.
@JLPick: Just over a year after PS2 launched in America, actually. And yeah, it's a really niche, practically unknown title. You don't see a lot of copies floating around, and the download will be cheaper than a copy in decent condition, at least from the Amazon marketplace. So win/win on this one, I'd say.
And yeah, quirkiness is Okage's bread and butter. Your main character's driving motivation is to cure his sister's Pig Latin curse...as in, that's all she can speak in. I don't remember too much else about it and I never finished it back in the day, so this game was actually high on my PS4 release wish list. So happy it's rated already!
Im hoping for some mainstream titles like
Socom
Def jams fight for ny
Etc
Wild Arms 3 is great, definetly considering that.
Great news but i peimal is already in ps3 store...
It would be nice if they include shadow man 2
Summoner and Shadow Hearts pls.
@SuperSilverback Shadow Hearts is a good pick, however, thanks for Mentioning Summoner...I actually forgot about that title!!!!
Okage Shadow King was basically a Tim Burton flick with an Active Time Battle system. It was the second PS2 game I played after FFX, and is criminally underlooked, though now It probably doesn't hold up at all. I can't play it on my PS2 anymore, as it wont read PS2 formatted CD roms (the purple discs) To see that on there is a shock, as is Wild Arms 3. Only makes me want a PS4 even more.
