Let's face it: it's always been a rocky road for Destiny players. Every time that the game introduces big changes, through an expansion or otherwise, it usually isn't long before hardcore Guardians have exhausted the new content, and are once again hungry for more.
It's no secret that Bungie's shooter has slipped out of the limelight over the last few months. With no clear plan laid out in front of them, players have been wondering what's next for the sci-fi adventure, and although the studio did recently roll out a roadmap of sorts, details have still been somewhat sparse.
One thing that the developer outlined was a spring update - a big one. Promising a light level increase and a slew of new stuff to see and do, Bungie's announced that the patch isn't too far off. Dubbed the April Update, the download is expected on the 12th April. As mentioned, it'll introduce a higher light level, and new rewards, but that's not all.
The studio promises new PVE challenges, new and updated gear, a new quest, and changes to both sandbox and Crucible gameplay. Apparently, there's more to it than that, too, but Bungie's keeping the rest under wraps for now.
So, how does this sound to you? Are you waiting for an excuse to jump back into Destiny? Reload in the comments section below.

New content releasing the same day as Ratchet & Clank and Dark Souls 3, nice strategy Bungie. Not that I was coming back anyway, but still.
About time!! Sounds like we will get a new Strike amongst this - Blighted Chalice Strike? Don't think it sounds as big as Dark Below/House of Wolves content which I think it needs but at least its 'something'
I'm still on the vanilla game , don't even know what a strike is or a gromoire card !!
Sounds good, I kinda wanna shoot some aliens in the face - not played since November.
"it's usually not long before guardians have exhausted the new content and are again hungry for more" That's MMO 101 right there, even WoW suffers from it.
Unless they have a new area or planet to explore, I probably won't come back......just wait it out till the sequel.
Still can't get good guns without doing the raid which don't have match making and I can't be arsed to have to look for players on websites!! Game is dieing a slow death
@MinerWilly add me if you want on ps4, my psn is my name here
@sub12 This times 100. I feel like I wasted my money on the taken king. Bought with the hopes it would draw me back in, but it never did. LOVED vanilla destiny, but just got burnt out over time. No amount of patches or expansions will bring me back, but I will start it all over when Destiny 2 releases.
@SonyInfinity
Haha right, gaming journalist love to say that Destiny didn't find its mark till The Taken King......which is a overblown statement IMO. The Taken King was good, but the Dreadnought was probably from a design aspect, the most boring part of the game. Yeah, leveling was improved and what not, but vanilla Destiny was actually the meat and potatoes.
Had tons of fun with Destiny, class shooting mechanics.
However I don't enjoy the small updates and tiny alterations, when my hard fought weapons became super seeded I felt slightly betrayed, Did I really want to go at the game for another 50 hours? No not really.
As an ex Halo player I enjoyed binge gaming for a couple of months then waiting 2 and a bit years for the next game, the ever present nature of Destiny makes me want to play it less.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi
Destiny 2 is slated for 2017 I believe,......I'm sure the PS3 / 360 will be dumped.
Even though uncharted got delayed, that day (4/12) is still a less-than-intelligent day to launch, with DS3 and R&C launching that day.
I've long since finished with the game and I'm just waiting for a sequel at this point
I'm interesred to see what they do because they're dropping players so we may get something meaty in the free update to bring us back but Dark Souls 3.
Considering how thin were the 2 costly dlcs I wonder how big will be this update.... They should actualise the older raids to the new light level, update Skolas, introduce some random event and make the year 1 loot useful again.... I doubt this will happen.
Anyway, I am totally into the Division now and waiting for Dark souls 3 and No Man's Sky, so I don't think I will go back to Destiny
I know the PvP still has a ton of my friends hooked. But I'll pass. Great pvpccant make up for every other short coming.
The attraction of Destiny has long worn off on me; mainly due to them ripping off vanilla players with TTK, which is where I got out. The only thing I miss is the PVP, but SMITE just came out for PS4; and it's free, so that's that sorted. Don't think I would invest in Destiny 2, especially if they have the same pricing strategy; I just believe that Bungie are taking gaming in the wrong direction by doing this.
@shogunrok No.
The Division did it better sorry bungie!
Already stopped playing after I've gotten all the Exotic, Raid, and Osiris gears. As for Destiny 2, don't think I'll support a developer that takes the players for granted.
