It's bizarre to think that, several years after its official announcement, we've still only seen a handful of teaser trailers from Mass Effect: Andromeda. This leaked gameplay footage that's doing the rounds, purportedly acquired from a BioWare employee's resume, shows various snippets from the release – including some jet-pack powered open world traversal, which we know will be in the final game.
The clip is taken from a 2014 build, so it looks pretty darn rough. Still, there's a brief glimpse of a Krogan alongside a human character, as well as footage of a meteorite crashing into a planet's surface. Make of it all what you will. This title should get its coming out party at EA's event prior to E3 2016 in June, with a release likely to follow in early 2017 or so. We've embedded the leaked footage for your viewing pleasure below.

Obviously this is a tech demo rather than actual game-play. Not a lot can actually be determined from this. It looks a lot worse than the game will -partly because the resolution of the video, compression etc and partly because so much of it is unfinished.
Sure hope it isn't an indication of things to come.
Not gonna watch it but even if it was two stick men wandering around the room I would still be buying the game
@dryrain Its literally a tech demo - look at this barrel explode with different lighting direction (you can't even see the barrel and its on a flat 'grid' - no background), look at our rain etc. Its low res (480p), 50sec video and obviously uses some ME assets but its still just a tech demo of the engine.
ME:Andromeda is definitely high on my wanted list - even though I know very little and miss my 'Shepherd'. I think it makes sense to start a new ME story for this generation. I think it would be difficult to carry over all the decisions, characters (well from those that could have survived or died) etc. It may seem odd to have one of those in the new game after dying on your playthrough.
I'm expecting it to play like ME3 but with a more open world. Which is fine with me as long as the story is on par with one and two.
I feel certain this will be great. They have really taken their time with the development and you know the production values are very high. Sometimes BioWare can be hit or miss with their story telling but I feel this will be a hit. This is their biggest property and they will get it right.
@Majic12
I thought for certain Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Halo 5 and Street Fighter V would all be sure-fire hits that didn't disappoint at all and each missed the mark in its own way in spectacular fashion. If Bioware were still on its own, I might give it the benefit of the doubt but it's an EA company now, I won't say I expect mediocrity but asking for anything more than good is asking for too much.
@Gamer83 I never thought any of those games were sure fire great, and imo none of them stack up to the high bar that the original ass effect trilogy set. That's why I think it will be good, because they know how high the expectations are and it is their premier ip. It will certainly be better than those you named.
I will just wait for E3 to see the real deal. Not really interested in watching a 2 year old tech demo. But thanks for the info Push Square
@Gamer83 I though they did a great job on Dragon Age Inquisition to be fair.
@WARDIE @Gamer83 Yea inquisition was amazing so i have high hopes for this and also the star wars game they are making
Mass Effect is one of my all time favorite franchises, this will be day one without a doubt for me.
Please don't have any turret sections. Please never let my character speak without my choice. Please be good.
Mass effect 3 is still my favourite despite what anyone who is still salty over the ending might say, and I greatly enjoyed Inquisition despite its repetitive nature so I think this will be great. They're also clearly taking their time with it so hopefully EA aren't pressuring them this time and learnt their lesson.
The one feature I want is a choice of race to play as, would love to play as a Turian but looks like it's human only again.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's trouble at Bioware. Honestly, if this game doesn't do well I wouldn't be surprised if EA closes Bioware for good.
