Environmental design is often an overlooked aspect of role-playing games. If a developer can craft a bunch of pretty and interesting locations, it can make an adventure through a fictional world far more memorable. Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness looks to seal the deal with these two new trailers, then, as the videos detail various environments that you'll be visiting.
The first trailer shows off a few sprawling, natural areas, while the second takes us on a tour of the Kingdom of Langdauq. Graphically, things seem on point, and there's a nice colour palette used throughout, but we're a little worried that these large locales appear to be so sparsely populated - hopefully that won't be a problem in the finished product, which is still set to launch this summer.

Gorgeous environments but I agree not many npcs about. I hope they will be abundant in the finished product, which I've pre-ordered as I'm a fan of the series and this looks set to be the strongest entry yet. Star ocean should keep me busy till ff15.
They do look good, but not on part with Ratchet and Clank. Those are so detailed backgrounds and environs! I know, I know different set up and star ocean is probably more open world in design, but backgrounds are backgrounds. Not sold on this yet, and with how good FF15 is coming along, I may just wait and get my jrpg fix when it releases.
I have already pre ordered this so obviously I think it looks really pretty amazing.Beautiful scenery and love the fact the characters are cute looking rather than the realistic image final fantasy xv is going for
Gotta say I'm taking a gamble buying this game though as I have only ever played the first Star Ocean and never did beat that boss..
Im sooooo looking forward ^^ this will be my summer time filler until FF15 releases loved Star Ocean 2 and 3, 4 was a huge disappointment for me - pretty hyped for this one though, especially that fights start immediately where you engage the enemy without loading screen or extra battle screen- about time some JRPG does this right LOL really hope that costumes/armor and new weapons are also visible on the chars and that there are not only beautiful landscapes to explore, but also lively towns (I just love that in JRPGs)
Cant wait
