It's safe to say that demand for an Elite PlayStation 4 controller is mounting, but for whatever reason, Sony seems intent on leaving cash on the table. Despite this, it has appeared to recognise the requests, partnering with Razer and Nacon to release two licensed "pro" controllers in Europe later this year.
First up is the Razer Raiju, which boasts two additional bumpers and detachable triggers. It also has a built-in control panel and detachable analogue stick grips. The other is the Nacon Revolution, which includes weights for optimum balance, shortcut buttons, and 46° amplitude dual analogue sticks.
There's no price on either handset just yet.

But they don't want to divide their userbase though...
@DLB3 https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2016/10/elite_ps4_controller_isnt_something_sony_is_interested_in
"However, according to PS4 architect Mark Cerny, Sony simply isn't interested in creating such a controller. Speaking to The Verge, Cerny states: "we want to keep PlayStation 4 as a single unified audience [...] we need to be quite careful to the enhancements we add to the controller.""
So Cerny says no....but they do it anyway, with his reasoning being no fragmented userbase? Can we just stop Cerny from opening his mouth? My response was a joking remark about Cerny's comment for why an Elite wont happen. Of course it doesn't divide the base. I'm not that stupid man.
@DLB3 I don't get Cerny. He knows his tech...kinda...but says they wont do elite controllers only to pawn off licensed ones despite giving a crappy reason for not doing it? I mean what? Do what Nintendo does with Eiji Aonuma and keep him in a room until the project is done.
I'm rough on controllers, so just want a quality product with more durable sticks. Both my dual shock 4s have notches worn into the shafts, as do others I have.
Wow the top one looks identical to the XBONE controller.
@IAmDavey The top one has the Xbone shape and the bottom one looks like it has the Xbone button layout.
Both of these seem to be wired and look more like budget controllers, not pro controllers
@BLP_Software
Exactly what's happenining with the pro, Sony is trying to convince the masses that better graphics don't matter?? lol
That's the entire reason we buy gaming consoles lol, best graphics/value ratio.
I don't want third party controller, I want elite ds4 pro controller with 2x battery capacity
@BLP_Software just like they didn't boast the superiority of the PS4 Pro will undoubtedly have for enhancing PSVR at the Pro launch event. They obviously think we're all daft.
Yesterday we hear MS is turning to 3rd Party sources for VR headsets and now Sony are turning to 3rd party sources for a 'Elite' controller.
Both of these seem to borrow heavily from MS - the top seems to keep the PS Layout but borrows the shape, triggers and sound control option the 'original' Xbox One controller had (before updated to use a standard 3.5mm jack) and the bottom also borrows the shape as well to a lesser degree and the layout too from Xbox controllers.
Both look wired but as that minimises latency, I can understand to a degree but the best option would be to have wireless support too.
Sold, can't be worse than the ds4.
Could they look anymore 3rd party?
@BLP_Software "he knows his tech.. kinda"
Wow
@xMEADx What is wrong with the DS4 controllers I have both still working without a problem? I think some people don't know how to use a controller normally......
The Nacon controller is € 109,90 and it's not even wireless...
"thisisfortheelitists"
Yea after seeing these and seeing they also aren't wireless i went back to searching for the original 3rd party elite controller that actually seemed.pretty decent and may actually be wireless! I actually found it on amazon with the companies name and everythin its real guys and is launching on the same day as the Pro!!! 90 bucls thinks ill give it a shot! I love DS4 but after having an X1 for a little while i grew to like the for factor and it won second place with me with DS4 being in forst of course! But sometimes I do wish the Dualshock 4 was a bit bigger and this looks like the answer plusbu luv the amount of rubber texture it has!!! See for yourselves and decide in the link below! =)

@solocapers
The man does know his tech. The reason i said kinda is that he cant talk about it. I homestly think that should be left to PR.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi
Where did I say it wont enhance VR?
@wittypixel
Where did I say they are trying to convince better graphics dont matter?
Cant tell if y'all are being sarcastically insulting or making genuine points...very hard to convey via text.
Case in point the fanboys have been ignited again by Cerny going on how the PS4 Pro can in theory have 8.4 teraflops during an interview or something. Even I dont know what the man was on about.
And before anyone leaps on me with pitchforls again, my first comment about dividing the userbase was a joke about his prior comments saying its not likely to happen because he wants everyone on the same level.
I should just not open my mouth around you lot.
@andreoni79
Would there be micro seconds of input lag on wireless? That's not very l33t.
@BLP_Software lol where did I say you said that?
@Neolit Your welcome my friend no problem glad to help, im just glad its real! Releases the same day as the Pro! I recommend u orderbit off of amazon, at least u kno u will have less of a hassle returning it if it doesn't meet your expectations! But what's really funny is that amazon has more info on it them the home site! And yes it is wireless, works on PS4 and pro via a USB dongle! I think I will look into changing the face buttons and PS logo button down the road to add some color! 😆
Looks ugly as heck.
As ugly as it is (and as much as I don't care for Razer), the Raiju seems like a good fit for me if the cost is right. Modded DS4 are so expensive but I really really want some paddles/bumpers.
I will just say that when you product looks like something Xbox-ish you are probably making the wrong design choices
Could be super comfortable, though! But to me the DS4 feels great!
@DoublezZ01 Wow. Thanks for the EMiO link. That's an impressive looking controller. I am seriously tempted to get it.
@starhops No prob man!!! hlad to help!!! Check it on Amazon as i think the Emio site doesn't have enough in the description IMO! This thing looks like it will feel great! And i like the slightly bigger size!!!
I'd trust razor over nacon, just saying
The fact they are not wireless is a huge selling point, i'd trade both my current Ds4's with there uber low battery time for a half decent wired controller.
