Deck 13's dystopian Dark Souls-esque title The Surge will deploy in May on the PlayStation 4, the developer has announced. The studio confirmed the date alongside a new trailer, which shows protagonist Warren starting work at shady corporation CREO. But it's not long before a catastrophic event turns artificial intelligence against the humble hero.
Armed with a state-of-the-art exoskeleton, you'll need to fashion ordinary construction tools into deadly weapons. Clearly the likes of Bloodborne have inspired this futuristic foray, but the unique backdrop sets it apart from anything From Software has done. Personally, we reckon that this is shaping up to be a nice summer distraction; will you be picking it up?

Focus Home Interactive have a really good lineup.
I did not like lords of the fallen so i'll pass on this.
@AlejandroMora I couldn't get to grips with Lords of the Fallen either, but in my case I'm not very good with that sort of gameplay as I have slow reactions. This looks a lot more like Technomancer which I can handle, i.e. looks a lot more forgiving and seems to have a much more lenient learning curve.
Honestly, think it looks pretty bland and uninteresting. Just being Souls-esque in gameplay isn't really good enough. Whereas Nioh on the other hand is doing something much more interesting.
@SegaBlueSky That's fair, you're definitely not alone in that opinion.
it looks great.I love lords of the fallen
I'll pick it up if The Surge has gender options and a fun amount of armor, clothes, and weapons.
The closest thing to an hypotetical "Dark Vanquish Souls".
Fingers crossed...
How is it comparable to Dark Souls apart from being a third person action game? Dark Souls has atmosphere, this hasn't shown any so far. DS has really fun and intetesting enemy & character designs. This.. everything looks pretty generic so far.
@LieutenantFatman Well, if you die you may lose your XP so ... that automatically makes it awesome.
... I guess.
