Nioh launched earlier this week, and after a pre-release period consisting of an alpha, a beta, and a playable trial, expectations were set reasonably high for the PlayStation 4 exclusive. The good news is that the internet seems to like it; the title has received a lot of praise from critics, and there's plenty of positive buzz surrounding the slash-'em-up on social media. The real question, though, is do you like it?
Once again, we're here to present that query to you lot. Vote in our poll, and then let your opinions be heard in the comments section below.

Mine has finally been delivered about 30 minutes ago 👍🏻 Sadly tonight I have real life things to do 😩
I sadly haven't got to play it yet. Don't know when I'll get around to it, but some of the things I've heard people say about it have me hyped.
@get2sammyb
Too busy with your new love, eh?
Question for those who played it.
Is this a demon's souls clone or is it more like Ninja Gaiden Σ or is it nothing like those games?
@Xaessya 10/10.
Like Horizon: Zero Dawn, I'll be nabbing this at some indeterminate point in the future once it's not surrounded by more important releases.
@Barnacle it's definitely a lot like demons souls in that it's level based as opposed to open world like dark souls. The ki pulse system is very similar to bloodbornes regain system. And the interface as a whole is definitely Souls in general. But to me it also reminds me of onimusha, bushido blade, and even tenchu stealth assassins. And of course ninja Gaiden. But it truly is a mix of all these made up into a game that stands out on its own. Sorry for the rant I just really love this game lol
Is it stupidly hard/frustrating?
@DG42Velka Thanks, this is the type of feedback I was hoping for!
@Gmork___ no. In fact, for a souls-like I'm finding it too easy. Even if you disagree, you can farm levels easy to out-level or out-gear many encounters. Also the living weapon is effectively an "ultimate" attack which is a good crutch too for difficulty spikes.
Tachibana muneshigue was stupid hard in the beta, but skippable.
I will prolly pick it up or try a demo if available. Not sure DS may be my cup of tea.
Yup, I'm enjoying it immensely. So much content and the ki pulse-based combat is hella fun.
A great evolution of Demon's Souls and Onimusha.
Enjoying is an understatement. Nice to see 2017 spitting out such an early contender for GotY.
It's fantastic. The third boss took me about 7 attempts but there are side quests to level up on if you get frustrated.
Welp, sounds like another game to add to my wishlist.
Unfortunately I don't have it...yet!
@Mega-Gazz Can you co-op against Tachibana Muneshigue?
@WanderingBullet uh, probably normal rules? Haven't unlocked the mission yet in the full game. plan on outlevelling that shizzle
I was so keen on this, until I heard it can take around 80 hours. No chance of finishing that this year.
@Mega-Gazz Haha. Yeah, in the beta there was no shrine in that map which lead me to believe that you couldn't co-op against that guy. Was wondering if they changed it for the full game.
It's bloody brilliant and I'm hooked!!!! Buy this!
I am enjoying it immensely, wsys dreamt about a dark souls with diablo loot.
Imho, we have the firdt GOTY contender here.
Hooked, completely hooked! The Souls games and especially Bloodborne are up there as my favourite games of all time and although I am only 10 hours in I get the impression this will be joining them.
Just beat my second boss (vampire lady) after maybe 10 attempts, I really enjoyed it because the first 5 tries I got mauled but then I just focused on learning how to avoid her attacks and slowly had more and more success until suddenly, I gave her a good hiding. And that's what I liked, I learned, I improved and I was rewarded. What a great game!
Really enjoying it, think I'm starting to get hang of the combat and making progress through bat filled caves. Wish the Nioh armour and weapon set that was a digital preorder bonus came with physical copies, but that's more a fault with current business practices than the game.
Enjoying more than Bloodborne, running around in me ninja suit.
I really enjoyed it.
Really enjoying it. One of the parts I enjoy is that the game can be completed by anyone and also reward players that would like to suffer a bit more. The co-op is great and the etiquette shown by other players makes me smile (bowing before questing). Also, buried in the records menu are additional challenges for more "hardcore" players, such as defeating some bosses solo, multiple times and without armour. Excellent.
