Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 155

I started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider a couple of days ago, and I'm going to continue that a lot this weekend. I'm absolutely loving it so far, they've improved upon almost every aspect of the previous game, to the point where, if the game keeps up the momentum, it might even be better than the Uncharted games for me

I'm still finishing ffxv, but i'm in chapter 6 and at level 60 so probably gonna stick to the story and finish it fast now 😉 then i'll play some valkyria chronicles until the 2 games i ordered from amazon arrive 😆

@Xaritah What is the combat like in this FFXV? I am not a fan of turn based, would you recommend this?

@LobsterJohnson it isn't anything like all the other ff i was used to, and if you don't like turn based then you'll love this, it reminds me a bit of kingdom hearts, it's quite adictive to me actuality, loving the game I've played 30 hours already 😊

Finishing Transformers Devestation hopefully and maybe some Little Big planet 3 with my daughter if I can persuade her.

On VR some more punishing rounds of Battlezone where I feel I am finally getting the hang of it. Really killing time until Horizon Zero Dawn.

I'm still playing Forza Horizon 3, I've just beat the final showcase so I'm just mopping up some rogue achievements to top up my Gamerscore.

@Xaritah thanks for the reply. One comparison to Kingdom Hearts and it looks like I will be purchasing my first FF game, nice one.

Still working towards Lego TFA's plat. Prolly going back to Splatoon and I will be unlocking the last 4 trophies in Future Tone.

Bought season pass for witcher 3. So enjoying the two datadisks in boost mode on pro. Sadly first quest is still broken and I couldn't finished it

Continue my endeavor in Gravity Rush 2. Really enjoying it.

I'm still addicted to Stardew Valley. Year 3 and Mara Jade farm is looking real good.

I finished Watch Dogs 2 this week and was determined to go for the plat but after spending a wasted forty mins of following some drunk person around hoping they would vomit for my camera I got frustrated and moved on..
So Started Deus Ex Mankind Divided (which I was given for my birthday in november) and am hooked already!loved the last one and looks like I'll enjoy this one just as much.
Also been playing Dangerous Golf which is alot of fun and very addictive.

Playing dead pool PS4 and hopefully I'll be starting world of final fantasy (borrowing from a friend).

I'm still playing Yakuza 0. I'm on chapter 11. I wanna get in some fighting games on PS4 as well. Maybe King of Fighters 14 and Street Fighter V. If I play anything on Xbox One, it will probably be Killer Instinct and Dead or Alive 5 LR. I do need to play Dead Rising 4 and GTA on there soon, but I doubt I'll get to those. And for the 3DS, Animal Crossing New Leaf. There's a fishing tournament going on for that. And maybe a Monster Hunter 4/Generations.

I have lot's of games I want to play, but I will stick with overwatch. I really want Mei's event skin, but loot boxes are not kind with me.

Still playing FFXHD and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 but when the new update FINALLY drops i will be able to play other games i haven't been able to for ages due to having no room on my HDD

Probably gonna work on Mankind Divided, so i can finish the DLC up and pack it away until they continue it in 2020. Maybe a little Watch Dogs 2 as well.

Working off a hangover from an all night drunken Rocket League session. I feel sorry for the people teamed with me.

I'm also recovering from a hang over, all due to knocking back shots when on the losing side in Vs matches on Overcooked. Hilarious chaos! Now aiming to finish off Deus Ex - Mankind Divided as I'm right at the end.

Uncharted Golden Abyss

Having finished RE7 on normal, then a run under 4 hours on easy I thought I'd give Madhouse a go just to find that it's turned into a very hard game that is a very different experience to what has come before. So I'm giving that a bit of a rest and moving back onto Yakuza 0, finally on chapter 3 after spending hours getting distracted by mini games

Finishing shantae half genie hero (I want to platinum it) and playing abzu, I hope I can finish gravity rush remaster before horizon zero dawn.

Probably a bit of MWr (unless I get frustrated by the slowness, the campers etc) as its a double XP weekend...

I've given up on trying to plat MW: Remaster, that mile high club on Vet is impossible! Started MGS V on Friday so if I get time I'll play more if that, only got to the start of the real game of that ridiculous prologue, how Kodijma was allowed to leave it like that is beyond me. Also started Child of Light on Friday, very very pretty game

Took a break from Watch Dogs 2 and started Nioh, and now I'm hooked haha.

Totally hooked on Nioh. Much like when FFXV came out, I don't want to play anything else. When I'm not playing it, I'm thinking about playing it. Those are the signs of a great game to me.
Difficulty wise it's definitely the hardest souls-like game I played (not played demon souls/DS3). Whilst the bosses aren't as impressive looking they really are off putting, which adds to the difficulty- particularly on the boss I'm currently stuck on.

Just recently finished Uncharted 4 (surprisingly, it was a fantastic experience) and plan on going back to Gravity Rush 2.

Also, Dragon Quest VIII on my 3DS.

i just finished the story in Gravity Rush 2 last night. What an amazing ending! I just wish more people would give the game a chance. I love it. Better than Dragonball Super as of late. Probably will be trophy hunting in GR2 for a while and going bat to TLG until Horizon comes out.

@Hego You just reminded me that im "playing" Child of Light on Vita. Havent touched it since December thanks to FFXV TLG WoFF and Gravity Rush 2 :/

@3Above thanks! Looking forward to it. I would love to try gravity rush 2 but I think I need to play the first one first and I refuse to pay the original price this late in its lifespan. Is the first really important?

Yakuza 0 and Attack on Titan

Final Fantasy XIV is taking all my time, both in the PC and PS4 alike...

So far I've played The Division, Devil May Cry, Ni No Kuni and Portal 2....

I'm absolutely enraptured by Nioh so I'll be playing a ton of that. Not only is it an addictively challenging game, but the inclusion of a Diablo style loot system has me excited every time an enemy explodes, leaving that gold loveliness on the floor.

Oh and I'll no doubt fit in some more WoW too.

@DLB3 We may need to start lying about what we're playing so that you lot don't read between the lines...

Winding down with that super chilled out game hotline Miami 2.

Been extremely ill the last few days, but I'm desperate to play Earth Defence Force 4.1 before my PS4 gets put away. This time next week its all about the Vita.

@ztpayne7 I think GR Remastered is definitely needed to have the full experience. Without spoiling, the game continues from the events of the first one & sees you 'return'. The characters are really likeable so it's worth playing the first one. I think the main campaign is only 8 hours long.
If you wait for a sale you could snag it up for as low as £6 digitally. It's on sale pretty often.

Story wise, it would basically be like playing KH CoM without having played Kingdom Hearts

@Fight_Teza_Fight got it. Unfortunately I haven't seen it on sale that much in the US. The only time I saw it was like 32.99. Under $10 and I would pick it up immediately.

Now that Sony lets us use a portable HD to store games means there will be more purchases in the P.S. store from me 1st purchase PES 2017 yep im getting so lazy I can not be bothered to open the tray to swap a game and at 16 quid its a steal I will be spending all weekend editing.

GR2 is still a lot of fun to play though, even without some of the back story. Really good challenge mode, a ton of fun varied side quests & they do attempt to catch the player up.

@ztpayne7 You can get by without playing the first game but there are characters, references and story pay off that you wont get unless you played the first game. I recommend GR remastered if you can play it. Its very good. It was on sale Digitally a few weeks ago.

For me I finished the plat on Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 and played a little Lego Force Awakens. Will try and get the last 3 trophies of Lego Dimensions to get two plats this weekend.

I got a good deal on Saint Seiya: Soldier's souls for PS4, It is a very good game if you follow the anime. Also, I'm playing Mafia 3, For Honor and PES 2017.

@toon_lonk1 I nearly finished playing the psvita version before the remaster come out on ps4, so sometimes I don't have the energy to replay the ps4 version

@3Above Do you have to finish all the challange to platinum it? I never able to finish level 3 challange on psvita.

Final Fantasy 15 - I have just reached the much-maligned Chapter 13. It seems okay at the moment but have saved at the first point I can.
Little Big Planet 3 will get a look as well.

finished Jazzpunk & did a completionist run on Everybody's Gone To The Rapture (grabbing the Platinums on both in the process) and started Oceanhorn charming little game that's scratching the Zelda itch nicely

@themcnoisy Good suggestion, although a bit pricey for a physical copy. Any idea if it's available on the PS Store?

Earth defense force on vita

@LobsterJohnson on vita ps1 classic. You play in first person like dungeon master and level up, get equipment, visit shops etc. Unsure how it plays these days mind.

@wiiware unfortunately yes you do. The Sliding challenges were the hardest for me on Vita but they are WAY easier with the Dualshock 4 in Remastered.

Getting back to finishing Divinity Original Sin. Great game but I decided against a quest that seemed fishy. It turned out to be a Rot immunity quest. I saved over the recent save and can't go back. 😣. I hope the couple of blood stones I have will be enough to keep the rot away.

@Hego The Division I started a week or so ago. Ni No Kuni I started this weekend and it's awesome. Just got to complete before Mass Effect.

Portal 2 was just trying out the coop with a friend, and DmC is my friends favourite game so was having a go

with my pre-order of the Rhombus of Ruin, I'm going back through Psychonauts... my fond memories from playing it so long ago are still solid now. what a great game. fun to explore, build up character, listen to the in game dialog...

RE Revelations 2 raid mode. PS3 and PS4 for weekend warrior challenge and PS4 for campaign.

I have been hoping for Revelations 2 to be a Plus freebie. It probably will now that i purchased a used copy for 15 bucks.
