After being classified by a German ratings board earlier in the year, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X looks set to off the undead on the PlayStation 4 next week. Gematsu has revealed that the survival horror classic will be one of a dozen or so titles scheduled to drop on the PlayStation Store starting 9th May, making this something of a stealth release.
As such, your expectations probably need to be aligned: this will likely be a rudimentary port of the PlayStation 3 version rather than a nifty remaster or anything like that. Honestly, it could even be a PS2 Classic – we’ll just have to wait and see.

I was hoping capcom remaster it for ps4. Resident evil 4 remaster has some weird bug, the english languange caption is not available, it's greyed out.
I wont buy old games digital.
Would be neat if they fix the feet movement.
But its still classic RE we love so much.
STARS !
The last true Resident Evil game, before the series went to hell with 4.
..Words can not convey just how much I hate resident evil 4.
( 0 and remake are great games, but 0 was just a prequel and remake a reinvention of the original. )
Just 2 and 3 to go (the best 2 in the series) and I'll be a happy camper 😃
Was expecting this to be a remaster, don't really care to re-purchase the PS2 Classic or PS3 re-release.
One of the few RE games I haven't mastered to the point that I can play blindfolded, I'll be picking it up so I can get some more playthroughs in.
@KitsuneNight I loved RE4 great game never understood why there was so much hate for that game. It was the first RE with good/great controls.
I will buy it
@carlos82 Unless Capcom decides to remake RE4-6 like they did for 0-1, 2 in the future, and hopefully 3 as well.
Yes! Yes! Yes! One of my favourite Resident Evil games. I imagine it'll just be PS2 remaster but it'll be great to play it on PS4. Still remember when I got it on the Dreamcast back in the day.
Ps2 classic, I'm sure of it. Which is ok, by the way : I like the way these games are done. Trophies, and high definition textures. It's cool, really.
Always wanted to play this game but every Gen I haven't yet but I will really try and play this, this time. Finally played RE Zero last year when it came to the PS4 and that was a cool game.
@twinspectre90 ...AT A HIGH PRICE?
I seen this article, then I looked on my shelf and I remembered I have a copy of this on the PS2 and completely forgot about it.
I might get this in the future, especially for the trophies.
@Flaming_Kaiser
Long story short : I hate Resident Evil 4 because it's basically a betrayal. ( I watched Spoony's Iltima retrospective. Can you tell ? )
4 was supposed to culmination of 9 years of games.
THE point where the player finally takes down Umbrella.
And what happens ?
Umbrella is dismantled in the opening cut scene of the game, like an after thought.
As if it don't matter.
Is this what we worked towards ? Is this what fans were waiting for for up to 9 years ?
It's basically a huge middle finger to any classic Resident Evil fan.
And that's why i hate Resident Evil 4 with a passion.
@kyleforrester87
I bought the Cube version for slightly more >.>
I do now have the complete Cube Resident evil lineup though.
Which sadly does include 4 as well , but its only there to complete the line up.
I have no actual plans of playing it.
