We’re getting perilously close to E3 2017 now, but we’re trying not to think about that. Instead, it’s actually surprisingly busy here at Push Square Towers for May, with the release calendar showing no signs of slowing down really. Much of the team is on review duty, with several big games being worked on as we write.

I’m gunning down space bugs in Farpoint at the moment. I can’t go into details due to a review embargo, but I guess I probably can hint that I really like that PlayStation VR Aim Controller.
Graham Banas, Reviewer
Having finished PREY, my backlog looks ever-so-slightly smaller now and I can move onto other games that I've been waiting for. Farpoint is almost here so I won't spend time with anything big, but I could probably bang out Little Nightmares in the meantime.

I’m spending this weekend on planes and in hotels, so that means I’ll be playing on my Nintendo Switch. I have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and… Well, not a lot else. But they’re both fantastic, so that ought to keep me going.

This weekend I'll be setting up my new PS4 Pro and checking out its supposedly marvellous 4K visuals. I may also check out how much of an improvement it makes to PlayStation VR.

I won't get much of a chance to play games this weekend, although I may crack out the Vita and take WipEout 2048 for a spin ahead of the launch of WipEout Omega Collection next month. If I do manage to get some time with the PS4, however, I'll likely be humming along to the whimsical tunes of LocoRoco Remastered.

This weekend I have quite a full plate with Borderlands 2, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, and Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland on the PS4. While on the 360 it will be Lost Odyssey.
What are you playing this weekend, then? You know the drill by now: let us know in the comments section below, and we’ll be back next week.

I picked up a second hand copy of Assassin's Creed Syndicate and I must admit I'm quite enjoying it. It's your typical Ubi swamped open map full of collectibles and tick off missions but 1800's London is a beautiful city to do it all in. The two protagonists, Evie and Jacob are really likable siblings, too.
@ApostateMage Yeah, I really enjoyed Syndicate too. I think a lot of people just had burnout with the franchise when it came out - especially after the buggy AC: Unity. I also really liked Jacob and Evie.
Looking at Horizon, RE code veronica, and Axiom verge.
I was pleasantly surprised to find my copy of The Surge come through the post this morning, so I'll be putting that through its paces. Played little over an hour and its pretty fun so far. Apart from that I've been playing a fair bit of Skyforge this week and I'm really enjoying it. Its a nice little time killer.
Other than working the whole weekend, I'm really hoping to beat Deus Ex Mankind Divided so I can finally start on Dishonored 2.
I just have to get that damn 12 gb update downloaded first.
I managed to get stuck into Resident Evil 7 last night and looking forward to getting on with more of this return to form. Too cowardly to go VR at this stage. Other than that some MK8 with my daughter and more Botw.
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition.
For once I actually have too much to play. I'm trying to decide between Mass Effect 1, Final Fantasy VII, Wipeout HD Fury, Heavenly Sword, and Mortal Kombat. I work weekends too, so I gotta pick wisely.
@Splat How are you liking Darksiders?
Disney Afternoon Collection, King of Fighters 14, Street Fighter V, and other fighting games on PS4. I might get in on Yakuza 0. Monster Hunter, Animal Crossing and Mario Golf on 3DS.
@ApostateMage @Jake3103 Yeah I thought AC: Syndicate was great as well. It's definitely in my top 3 favorite AC games right between AC III and Black Flag.
PS4 - MLB The Show 17
Switch - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, NBA Playgrounds
@ApostateMage
AC: Syndicate was definitely better than given credit for. I'd say the best game in the series after AC II.
Going on a road trip with the family, So I'll try to finish Ys; Memories of Celceta.
@Tasuki - This is my second go around. I played it on PS3 as well. It's nothing groundbreaking but it's a solid game.
Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain, i got it in the sale, £8 was a bargain i just couldn't turn down
It feels like I'm starting to near the end of Persona 5 (I'm in November), but I really don't want it to end. That, to me, is the mark of a truly exceptional game.
I've almost finished Dishonored, so after that I'll do the DLC. I've largely been getting through the missions as quickly as possible. It's not that I dislike the game - it is one of my favourite last-gen titles - rather I want to get to Dishonered 2.
Having (finally) finished Dragon Quest Builders, this morning I started Trails in the Sky Second Chapter. The first game was absolutely amazing so I have high hopes for this one. I love how every NPC has something meaningful to say, which makes it feel like you're really inhabiting the world. The music is incredible, which is to be expected from a Falcom game.
sniper ghost warrior
One more episode of Tales From The Borderlands to go...
Getting trophies on Diva X and Uncharted 3. Also playing Chain of Memories, not really a fan of getting cards even for traversing maps.
Pikmin 2 (Wii U)
Portal (PC)
@DerMeister
Always heavenly sword, if you've not played it yet I'm so envious.
Ive nothing new I've bought to play so might hit few ps plus games as I've not touched one in ages.
PS4: Dishonored 2, Killzone Shadowfall
PSVita: GTA Liberty City Stories
Finished Dishonored 2 earlier today, which I can't help be disappointed by as I loved the first game. I can appreciate the freedom & the level design & there are some really neat ideas, but I just didn't care about the story or the characters. Just felt mediocre & predictable. The game's version of Samuel is a joke...
Hoping to finally start Killzone Shadowfall later.
Currently I'm playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I didn't think I would love it as much as I do, considering that I bought it already on Wii U lol. I wanna finish Zelda BOTW maybe, but I can't bring myself to because the story is so dreadfully dull. I'd like to get Horizon at some point, but I also wanna get ARMS and Cave Story Plus for the Switch. So I'll probably wait for a price drop on it.
I'm planning on resuming Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (PS3) and beating that eventually.
@gingerfrog I had it when it first came out, but I got rid of it after my first PS3 died. I recently got it back, and I am looking forward to finally finishing it.
I'm personally going to play more pro skater (ps1 disc) on the ps3
I'm off work now until a week Monday so hopefully will be able to get some extra gaming time.
Been having a lot of fun with Alien Nation,such a great game in multiplayer.A really good Plus title.Talking of Plus,I recently finished Invizimals on the Ps3,a fun game but the story,characters,acting was absolute pants.
Persona 5,Dragon Quest Heroes and Dishonoured 2 have been taking up my time too along with Valkyria Chronicles 2 on vita
Not going to be playing loads this weekend but I will be playing God of War 1 on PS Now, trying to catch up so I can buy the remastered version on PS4. To say it's a PS2 game it's really fun!
@PostmanPatinator God of War is great! Love the opening sequence of that game battling the sea monster.
A few hours building up my turkey, boar and rabbit kills.
@mookysam I'm with you. Beat the game a few weeks ago. I am currently playing stardew valley and trying to enjoy kingdom hearts dream drop distance hd, but really...I wish I was playing more Persona 5. (I let a friend borrow it)
I'm finally playing The last of us on ps3 even though I bought it 3 years ago and I'm also playing the fantastic Dirt rally on Xbox one.
Getting absolutely destroyed on Nioh this weekend
Still playing nier automata. 75 hour, already got all the main ending (A, B, C, D, E), want to get all ending and platinum it.
Yakuza Zero!
After 65 hours I'm upto chapter 11. Talk about going at a snails pace. I'm hoping to finish this chapter off this month....
@Splat Agree, I missed it last gen, just never got around to it and snagged that Humble Bundle a few months ago that included both games. It is indeed a solid game so far what I have played of it.
Dragon Quest Heroes 2 and Tales of Berseria are my main focus(es?) right now... maybe some NieR Automata. I want to get through F.E.A.R. also - had it on my PC for awhile, and I want to pick up a new FPS, but I figure I should go through some of the stuff I have already before dropping change on a new title. And FEAR's pretty cool, I played it before, just never beat it.
Also, as far as my retro collection goes, I bought Spyro: A Hero's Tail & Rumble Roses from LukieGames this week, so I'm hoping I get those in the mail. I got Rumble Roses since there's no arcadey wrestling games out there these days (not until Chikara Action Arcade Wrestling comes out, anyway), and I needed a cheapie to get free shipping I also just wanted to play a new Spyro game, despite platformers like Snake Pass, Yooka Laylee and soon Skyler & Plux coming out these days, so I decided to pick up Eurocom's PS2 Spyro. Seems to be the best non-Insomniac one, and Eurocom was a pretty good team. Figured its time I check it out!
Mothers day weekend so my family has been hanging at the house, so I'm mostly just playing injustice 2 mobile in my phone, and tomorrow I will play some Horizon and try to convince my wife to play episode 5 of GoT Telltale series so we can finish that soon.
@KratosMD If you haven't bought it yet, don't get Shadow Dragon. It was already worse than the GBA Fire Emblem games, and Wii U's terrible DS Virtual Console makes it even worse...erer. Seriously, it's the worst.
Get a 2DS XL and continue with Echoes or Fates when you're done with the GBA installments.
Still working way thru HZD and a little bit of Injustice Gods among us as a change from open world games.
Fell back down the Minecraft rabbit hole. MC on Switch delivers the at home/ on the go MC experience that that PS4/ Vita combo couldn't make good on.
Iron Banner week, so Destiny it is!
@KratosMD
I just started the original on DS. Quite surprised how stressful it is, lol.
@daveh30
I was up way past my bedtime playing Minecraft on Switch. I think I'll need to set limits or I'm gonna get nothing done irl.
@NinjaWaddleDee
You're not the only one with BotW. 35 hrs in and a stealth section brought me to a grinding halt.
@Tasuki - I'm looking forward to giving Darksiders 2 a shot. I never got around to that one.
@Splat Yep that ones next on my list. Hopefully by them time I finish that one up three will be out by then.
Horizon zero dawn, its awesome.
I'm still trying to get to disk 3 on final fantasy 8 😂 i love being able to llay everywhere with my vita, i wanted to end it this week in my vacations, since i have 2 games that I'm waiting to arrive, I'm at the end of disc 2 but i still got discs 3 and 4 to play 😧 dunno if I'm gonna be able to to it 😂
Can't stop playing Dishonored. The definitive version.
Finally got the platinum on nier so I'm dipping into backlog this weekend. Infamous second son, didn't realize that this is an actually pretty fun game. About 60% through and it's been alot of fun so far. Some of the side quests get repetitive, but other than that I'm having a blast. Also picked up far cry primal on sale, seems pretty OK, looking forward to getting into it.
@SuperSilverback The main game or the expansion? Game is brutal. I got the platinum and still must have died 50/60 times on the expansion.
They've done a really great job of balancing the game. I thought I was just going to destroy everything with my Divine+ gear. Its difficult, but no mission feels like it's impossible. Didn't ever have to level grind.
Yesterday I had to work and I'm gonna spend the whole Sunday riding my Bianchi because it's literally a sunny day. In the meantime my backlog is growing like a Katamary rolling down a crowdy road...
Nioh, got it cheap £25 physical (wouldn't be able to do that in a digital only future ) good game it's pretty hard. I'm tired of the soul's game's aproach but this is a MUCH better game than DS3, and up to now it's much harder and NG+ promises higher tier loot and hopefully harder gameplay rather than a set of crappy ring's.
PS4 - Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, nice surprise to hear Mark Hamill as the Watcher.
I'm traveling this weekend, so I'll also be playing Yoshi's Wooly World on the 3ds.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Just got main game for now!! That god damn bat lady killed me so many times before i beat her. Then i beat her in a sub mission the first go and i was like....okay haha
Much like the last 51 weekends, Overwatch for me.
@KratosMD Great to hear that! I agree, Fire Emblem is generally a quality series, despite a few duds like Shadow Dragon.
