Remember Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag? Remember how the best bit about it was navigating the high seas with your scurvy-laden crew, and getting into naval scraps for treasure?
Well, Ubisoft Singapore does, and Skull & Bones is precisely that. The big difference, though, is that this new pirate adventure is set in a shared multiplayer Indian Ocean. You can sail solo or recruit your friends to become a notorious band of pirates as you compete with other vessels for treasure and glory. Check out the debut trailer embedded above.
Skull & Bones also received a release window of Fall 2018, so there's a while to go yet. Still, has this whetted your appetite for pirate-based shenanigans? Sing your favourite sea shanty in the comments section below.

The best bit of ACiv was the story, the open world, the islands etc with the 'occasional' Naval combat so I really hoped we could have had a fantastic Pirate game with the occasional Naval combat and 'at most' this 'tacked on' as a MP component...
This could be absolutely huge!
I agree with @BAMozzy. Watching the trailer I was hoping it was going to be a Black Flag sequel. When I saw the name, Skull & Bones, I thought, great a proper pirate game. Then it said it was an online multiplayer game and I just groaned.
With sea of thieves coming out as well as another early access game on steam that is similar. I sea this getting lost in the waves
So it's basically For Honour, but at sea?
FOR HONOUR BOAT
FOR HONOUR BOAT
EVERY BODY LOOK AT ME AND MY MULTIPLAYER BOAT (yeah).
Nah, can't be bothered with this.
I'm not the only one who's a bit disappointed with all the online stuff, right? I mean, I love the games from Ubi I've seen so far, but all the online stuff, yuck...
Sadly aside from Far Cry, the Rabids game appealed to me the most and I don't plan on getting a switch. BGE2 seems like it's in the concept stage and like many I was HUGELY excited when Skull & Bones was first shown...until it was revealed to be a multiplayer blah...so crushing! I'm just not in Ubis demographic
