We recently uploaded a video looking at five first-party PlayStation 4 exclusives we expect to steal the show at E3 2017, but a lot of people asked us which unannounced titles we’re anticipating as well. This proved a more challenging prospect because, when you’re talking about games that haven’t actually been revealed, where do you draw the line? This author reckons a PlayStation VR version of Jumping Flash would be the kitten’s whiskers, but there’s no real reason to believe it exists.

So we really thought about this and settled on two titles that we think have a very high probability of appearing during Sony’s press conference this year – and also have their grounding in reality. While these are educated guesses, though, don’t assume they’re guaranteed: the best way to ruin a media briefing is to assume you know exactly what’s going to be shown – only for it to be absent. Just ask Pokémon fans right now – they’ll know the feeling.

E3 2017 inFAMOUS Sucker Punch PS4 PlayStation 4 1

Sucker Punch’s New PS4 Project

We don’t even have a rumoured name here. Sucker Punch, in our opinion, is a lock for this year’s E3: the problem is, we haven’t got a clue what it’s been working on since inFAMOUS: First Light launched almost three years ago. Our understanding is that it’s a new intellectual property, which makes speculation practically impossible. We do know, however, that it’s been recruiting for an open world title, which makes sense given its pedigree. Common sense also suggests this will have super-duper tight controls and great traversal mechanics.

Beyond that, though, your guess is as good as ours – which is exciting because the developer could quite literally be making anything. This time last year we’d convinced ourselves it was making Spider-Man, but of course we now know that Insomniac Games is busy beavering away on that. Whatever it is, we reckon we’ll know for sure this time next week. And we can’t wait.

E3 2017 Bloodborne PS4 PlayStation 4 1

From Software’s New PS4 Project

Again, no name. There has been some speculation that From Software’s readying a title called Phantom Wail, which is supposedly a Souls-like game with an Aztec setting, but it’s a rumour that’s built on a weak foundation as far as we’re concerned. We do know that the developer’s been recruiting for a dark fantasy action RPG, and that it’s probably collaborating with Japan Studio again. But beyond that…

There are a lot of people who have convinced themselves Bloodborne 2 will be at Sony’s press conference this year, and the timing seems spot-on for that. The problem is that there are no real rumours to fuel the fire, and that’s a dangerous position to be in. While we’re less confident on this one than Sucker Punch, we have got a pretty strong hunch we’re going to see something new coming out of From Software at next week’s briefing. Whether it’s a sequel to the beloved abovementioned brand or something new entirely, we’re not sure – but we do reckon whatever it is, it’ll be there.

There are lots of other rumours of course: Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry… The list goes on and on. But these are the two unannounced games that we reckon have a high probability of being at Sony’s press conference. Do you agree? Which are you most hyped to see? Is there anything else you reckon is a lock for the briefing? Let us know in the comments section below.
