It perhaps won’t come as a huge surprise following EA’s decision to put the Mass Effect franchise on ice, but Andromeda won’t be getting any single player add-on packs. The series is well known for its expansive post-release content packs, but with developer BioWare Montreal scaled down and many staff moved to Motive to aid production on Star Wars Battlefront 2, it doesn’t seem like the appetite is there internally to create more of a game that’s disappointed both critically and commercially.
Are you disappointed by this? Had you been hoping for more of the game – or are you happy to see it left in the past? Enter the Lair of the Shadow Broker in the comments section below.

Thought Bioware denied this?
😢
So EA is killing off a studio whats new. Would be nice to see EA crash and burn. Well at least we are getting a new servicebased game Anthem with the nice always online part.... The game bombed switching engine during development yeah EA is king killing of great studio's.
@get2sammyb http://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/gaming/823027/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-DLC-BioWare-update-cancellation-hoax-Anthem
Confirmed as a hoax?? Just read this on the website and then see this on PushSquare... Conflicting!!
FAKE NEWS
I thought bioware denied it also but I read they only discredited the news source. It's probably cancelled but they didn't want it to be told by someone else
So glad I skipped this one at launch.
To those saying this is a hoax, here are the first two sentences from the sourced Kotaku article:
"Yesterday, a widely shared Facebook post claimed that BioWare had canceled Mass Effect: Andromeda’s downloadable content. The good news: that Facebook post was a hoax. The bad news: they guessed correctly."
Before you guys start claiming it's the hoax from yesterday, you may wanna look into the article's sources first.
Lol what a freaking waste.
@Goob @glassmusic The Kotaku article claims that 3 people in Bioware (who wish to remain anonymous) have confirmed that there are no plans to do any Single Player DLC.
Whilst it maybe true, it doesn't necessary mean its 'Game Over' for this game either as they 'could' still do something and have a small team supporting the game with patches and possible MP DLC. Its unlikely, it seems, that we will see any SP content but regardless, its not officially confirmed so its not 'News' but 'Rumour'
I've been hearing conflicting things especially from YongYea a YouTuber that has been covering this closely. Apparently Bioware Montreal had denied this. Is this developing?
Crash and Burn.
Hmm who to believe, the clickbait gurus at kotaku, or EA and Bioware both stating on the record that this is false.....
Don't care and don't really care for more sci fi, Bio Ware are giving us Anthem. No, give me Dragon Age.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi "don't care for more sci fi" what do you think Anthem is going to be so?
@itshoggie i think hes saying he whats more Dragon Age, not more Sci Fi like Anthem?
And EA kills another franchise that was at one time one of their most popular.
To clear this up: there was a hoax going around that suggested no single player DLC was being made. BioWare Montreal debunked the hoax, but not the actual contents of the rumour.
Kotaku has sources within BioWare Montreal (and extremely trustworthy ones) who are saying that there's no single player DLC.
@itshoggie Did you read my comment in full
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi the Dragon Age part of your comment wasn't there when I replied.
@get2sammyb What about the statement from EA itself stating it was all false? Does that not count? If kotaku has "extremely trustworthy sources" within Bioware, how come we weren't warned that Andromeda would be such a dumpster fire before being released
@RedMageLanakyn I guess everyone should sit tight waiting for content that clearly isn't being made, then.
@get2sammyb I get that you have a bit of a crush on one of the writers over there, but hearing one thing from Bioware and another from you know, the people that OWN Bioware, kinda makes me lean towards the owner.
If a friend outside of my company asked me for info on something that's not in my capacity to give info on, my response would be "ask the boss" and not just say something that could turn out to be wrong down the road. Then there's egg on everybody's faces.
@BAMozzy not interested in MP content, personally. I'm sick of single player games shoehorning MP in due to silly publisher demands.
Oh well, no big loss really
I remember when they canned the dlc for DA2 after a couple were grunted out I'm a little surprised they didn't even put out 1 and test the waters.
I am angry if this is the case as the DLC for Mass effect games has always been a lot of fun to play. Its sad the game received so much negativity some of it justified other parts not. This is a sad day for Mass Effect.
@itshoggie lol I haven't edited the message
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi I swear down, there was no Dragon Age part of that message when I replied lol
