Let’s be honest: Middle-earth: Shadow of War has been looking rough. The game – which was originally due out at the end of August – is being put back in the oven for a good couple of months, with developer Monolith confirming that the title will now deploy on 10th October worldwide.
Here’s what the studio had to say:
Middle-earth: Shadow of War expands gameplay in every dimension, including the massive open world, the story, the RPG systems, and personal player stories of the Nemesis System. As with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience. In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise.
We understand that it might be disappointing to have to wait a little longer for the release and are sorry for the delay, but we are working hard to make an amazing game. We’re excited to show more at E3.
While it is disappointing news, a little extra spit and polish is never a bad thing, and we’re sure publisher Warner Bros is happy to get out of the way of Destiny 2.

Totally agree take your time 2 months not a big deal. Looks lIke a cool game in the videos
And I bet that is the XB Scorpion release date, every bit of video showing gameplay has been captured on the X Box, I reckon they will be pushing this hard as a "launch" game for it.
Could be, but seeing as Scorpio is just an Xbox One with more power, I don't really see why it needs a "launch lineup" personally. I mean as long as there are a number of games compatible with it when it drops, it doesn't really matter IMO.
This actually works for me, I was debating back and forth on a late summer game between this and Agents of Mayhem and now the decision was made for me. I know that is a truly bizarre decision between types of games, but once I hit mid Aug I only buy a game or two so there is stuff for everyone to get me for Xmas. My wife calls in the post labor day embargo on games.
A bit of spit and polish is all good.it was looking a little unpolished and way more ambitious then the first.
This might be the effect of Red Dead Redemption 2 delay.
Every publisher is now more comfortable to launch games in the Fall.
Well hey, that's my birthday! Happy B-day to me, I guess!
Noooo! Falls right in the middle of all the shooters I want now
I was hoping to have this done prior to Destiny 2 launch.
Oh damn...I was hoping to have this on my vacation
It was scheduled to launch the same day as Uncharted: Lost Legacy I believe. I want to play Shadow of War, but I would have gone with Uncharted first. I'll get it right away now.
