It’s been almost a week since Tekken 7 released and this author’s still yet to play an online multiplayer match. And that’s not through a lack of trying, we’d hasten to add. Fortunately, a new patch is available now which promises to improve the matchmaking environment on the PlayStation 4; it weighs in at a rather meaty 723.8MB, so let’s hope it’s successful, eh?
The update also makes a handful of other tweaks to the title: it removes player information before a match and adds a voice chat toggle. We’ve included the full list of patch notes below, so give them a read and then let us know whether you’re having any better luck in the comments section.
Tekken 7 PS4 v1.02 Patch Notes
- The following player information will no longer be displayed before a match: Character Selected, Wins, Rank, Title
- Connection with other players can be established more frequently
- Improved Stability
- Addition of ON/OFF feature for voice chat
- Some characters’ move properties were corrected

Might be able to batter Sammy online now.
I'll try a few online matches over the weekend.i may need to make some space for this update.
Maybe this one did not launch complete either?
Rank match is broken at the moment. But online tournaments seem to work fine. Mostly. I should point out I've not played with the new patch yet.
Maybe I can get the Platinum now. It just depends on how much I suck at Tekken.
Edit: It looks like it hasn't gone live in the US just yet. I'll check tomorrow then.
Wouldn't it be cool to create a tournament between PushSquare's staff/readers?
Also, is the patch already on? can't download it...
