We have a Monster Hunter: World hands on going live this week and it’s gushing. The long and short of it is that you should be very excited for Capcom’s console-based animal slaughtering sim. And it just keeps getting better, too: this clip fresh out of the Tokyo Game Show demonstrates the release’s mind-bogglingly in-depth character creator.
While it doesn’t look like you can adapt body types much, the number of facial adjustments that you can make are incredible – and the results are wonderful, too. Have a flick through this video to give yourself a rough idea of the power of the game’s character creator, and then ponder what kind of hunter you’re going to make in the comments section.

The memories of Mass Effect Andromeda's horrifying character creator have been swept aside.
Just a tad more variety than the PSP and 3DS titles...
Woah this looks really good might have to get this when it comes out. Never played a monster hunter game
@SKC_Diamond The game is superb. It's easily my most anticipated of 2018 now.
I love a good character creator but this game ain't doing nothing for me. Probably because I played Monster Hunter way back on the PSP and thought it was naff. Hopefully there's a demo planned.
@ShogunRok These were my thoughts when I saw the video yesterday, how is it possible that it looks sooo much better than ME:A
And then it all gets covered by 4 layers of armor, the woes of character creators in RPG settings.
@Expa0 I believe you can opt for a helmet off option in this game.
Looks as good as Toukiden 2's and Dragon's Dogma's.
I always seem to spend way longer than expected designing my characters.
Seriously very impressive.
@Th3solution Same here and then i play i say i dont like the look lets do it again. 😉😋
@Th3solution same here lol. Hell despite really not feeling the psp title i might get this one JUST for the character creation! Though from what ice seen the game does look really cool!
Great an actual character creator and not a build your own triggered feminist simulator! All of my Destiny 1 characters brought to Destiny 2 looked like they had a serious case of internalised oppression!
Man I cannot wait!
Like most games with in-depth character creation modes, it'll take me a few hours messing around with the options before I actually start playing the game.haha
@get2sammyb Can you name your avatar or is it just your Palico only?
