Sony’s slashed the price of a slew of PlayStation VR games in order to celebrate the virtual reality headset’s first anniversary in North America. PlayStation Plus members will score up to 60 per cent off must own titles like Batman: Arkham VR ($13.99), Farpoint ($29.99), and Rez Infinite ($17.99). The sale spans software that optionally supports the headset, too, such as Resident Evil 7: Biohazard ($29.99) and Rise of the Tomb Raider ($24.00).
If you own a headset and have perhaps been looking for something new to purchase, then there really is a lot to recommend here. Tiny Trax ($13.99) is a brilliant little racer, while Star Trek: Bridge Crew ($24.99) is one of the more unique co-op experiences we’ve had in years. We really recommend looking through the full list through here, although be warned: SUPERHOT VR’s not on sale this time.

I took total advantage of this sale. I already own a slew of games, but was able to add Driveclub VR, Sparc, The Brookhaven Experiment, Gunjack, Windlands, Sneaky Bears, and Virry...all VR games (and Virry) I've been watching for sales..and it cost me $57 and change total!
Also, the Ultimate Edition of Star Wars Battlefront is $5.09. The VR portion is very limited compared to the rest of the game (which is limited in its own right), but the Ultimate Edition includes all DLC and the VR portion is VERY COOL!
Still don't own any VR. It's not that I can't afford it, it's just I don't have the required room to use it. Hopefully by the time I can get one VR will be better (and cheaper).
I think I'll pick up Arizona Sunshine, and maybe look at some other games. It's been a dog's age since I played my PSVR.
What about the old european continent? No love for us? 😢
..no love for the UK / Eurozone...
(to be fair we get good sales at other times)
..but still... it's our anniversary too!
Should I wait for the v2 of PSVR?
@iARDAs there's not a huge difference in the new version of the PSVR vs the launch version (no bump in image resolution, but integrated earbuds and HDR passthrough on the breakout box), but I'd advise you to get the latest version.
@Turismo4GT That's what I was thinking too but if I can see the older version cheaper I could grab that too.
Watching my 65 year old mom, an avid Star Wars fan, slack-jaw watching the Imperial Walker saunter by her on the Battlefront VR title screen alone made the PSVR a worthy investment.
Her first words when done? "How do I get one?"
@iARDAs
It depends on the bundles available. The cord arrangement on the new one sounds better, and the HDR pass through is a must. That said, if there's a huge delta in costs between the two, the original is perfectly acceptable.
@lacerz I have a PS4 Pro but no intention to buy a 4K TV till PS5 hits... My TV also does not have HDR.. Should I still grab the latest unit for HDR pass through? Does it benefit the PSVR at all?
@iARDAs
If you don't have a HDR capable TV, and have no intention of getting one anytime soon, then the pass through isn't necessary. Even when you do get one, there are workarounds if you have the original PSVR.
The chord being in the rear, as opposed to the side as it is currently positioned, would eliminate getting tangled up in it while in VR, which happens quite a bit. Not a huge problem, but you will hit it a few times during a session.
@Constable_What If Arizona sunshine is over $9.99 I would pass. That game was the biggest VR disappointment in my opinion. Sparc is awesome though if you haven’t tried it. I grabbed the smashbox “paintball” game. Gonna try that one tonight.
VR was released a year ago today in the Uk. Hopefully they will do a VR UK sale as well.
@1ManAndHisDroid anniversay is today in the Uk. 13th October.
@YETi i am begging to the universe that you are right!
