October and November: the two months of the year that are typically associated with the inevitable holiday rush of big blockbuster releases. October turned out to be a pretty great time for PlayStation 4 owners, but how is November shaping up? Well, we daresay there isn't quite as much variety on display here, but we're still looking at a very busy 30 days. Of course, it goes without saying that there are at least a couple of heavy hitters vying for your hard earned cash.
Call of Duty: WWII
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Sledgehammer Games
Release date: 3rd November
Taking Call of Duty back in time certainly got people's attention after years of high-tech gadgets and jet jumps, but will Call of Duty: WWII prove to be as popular as its predecessors? That remains to be seen, but it's looking quite promising all the same. The game's cinematic campaign seems impressive, and the multiplayer, while somewhat streamlined, retains that twitchy sharpness and fast action that the franchise is known for.

Need for Speed Payback
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Ghost Games
Release date: 10th November
Shave your head and gargle some gravel, Need for Speed has gone full The Fast and the Furious. EA's arcade racing series returns after a few separate stints of disappointment, but Payback is looking pretty good. Graphically it's a shiny metal treat, and with an open world setting, there's potential here for some exciting and dynamic car chases.
L.A. Noire
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Developer: Rockstar Games
Release date: 14th November
We're not sure how well L.A. Noire's cutting edge facial animation tech has held up over the last six years or so, but we have some reasonably fond memories of purposefully driving around 1947 Los Angeles like complete lunatics. The detective work wasn't bad either, and to be honest, we're looking forward to seeing whether this crime thriller has stood the test of time. Is there any reason to doubt it?
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: EA Digital Illusions CE
Release date: 17th November
Star Wars? Never heard of it. Is it a bit like Mass Effect? We're just kidding of course, but the real question is whether Star Wars Battlefront 2 will truly improve upon its predecessor. The last game was a sales juggernaut -- as you'd expect -- but it was lacking a couple of key elements, most notably a single player campaign. Thankfully, the sequel's packing one, but recent controversy over loot boxes has smothered some of the hype. The hope is that it'll leave behind the dark side and turn out okay in the end. It certainly looks the part.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
Release date: 17th November
Just in case you haven't spent enough of your life wandering around Skyrim, Bethesda's smash hit role-playing game comes to PlayStation VR this November. While our recent hands on time with the release didn't exactly blow us away, we think the novelty of returning to one of gaming's greatest open worlds in virtual reality could be enough to sell the adventure all over again.
The Sims 4
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Maxis
Release date: 17th November
Yeah, it feels like The Sims 4 has been around forever, but we're sure many PS4 owners will welcome Maxis' expanded port with open arms. When it comes to creating a group of freaks and forcing them to kiss each other, there's nothing quite like EA's long running series.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (PS4 Console Exclusive)
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix
Release date: 28th November
Divisive in its day, Star Ocean: The Last Hope is coming to PS4 with all of its creepy doll-faced characters intact. Okay, that didn't sound especially positive, but The Last Hope is thought of quite highly by many fans of the action RPG series, and we'll admit that back on the PS3, we did enjoy the grind that came with the title's flashy combat system and engaging exploration.
So November is looking solid, but what games are you most looking forward to on PS4? Vote in our poll, and then tell us your plan in the comments section below.

I missed LA Noire last gen. Maybe it’s time to try it. Probably not for while though. Waiting on reviews of BF2 to see if the SP is worth my time.
I'm quite looking forward to Need for Speed: Payback personally. Haven't really played an arcade racer in a while.
a good Star Ocean game is back!
No mention of the re-master dot hack?
SW:BF2 - although its not as highly anticipated as some of Octobers releases were - its just the 'best' of what's here in my opinion. NFS: Payback could well be my 2nd choice but waiting to see how it reviews and already would already have spent a small fortune on gaming by the time this comes out.
My most anticipated game release of November though is Horizon: Zero Dawn - the Frozen Wilds on the 7th November. It may even tempt me to play before I get to engrossed on my Xbox X enhanced games...
@get2sammyb I'm very interested in this one too...although I'm not too keen on open world races.Tell me this isant another always online racer?Hated the last one for that reason alone.
i'd vote for none of the above actually.
Nothing for me in November. Actually, nothing on PS4 until Ni No Kuni 2 in Jan.
@Wazeddie22 I think they've said you can play offline, but don't quote me as I may be misremembering.
Nothin for me in Nov except for maybe Star Wars.
Wow, that's a weak month. Zero Dawn dlc should be good though.
Why is there no news on Payback or new gameplay videos?
Mario>CoD>Need for Speed>AC: Origins. It's looking pretty good for the next month to me : p
See what else Destiny 2 throws at us too
For me I will get Battlefront 2 and Lego Marvel 2 deluxe, but probably not till Xmas time. Also will get Frozen Wilds DLC since I already preordered.
Only Need for Speed for me. Got Mario and a bunch of other switch games to keep me busy. Will probably pickup BF2 in the future for my kids when the price comes down a bit.
@Wazeddie22 One of the first things the developers said was that it was not always online.

@delukze If you check the NFS blog or their Facebook page there is a good amount of info there. They revealed the full car list just a couple days ago.
Mario Odyssey.
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is the big one for me.
@adf86 ^ this . Other than The Frozen Wilds , I'm only getting CoD & Starwars this holiday season that are the big AAA titles. Might get Sonic Forces depending on reviews.
It's a fine list, but not a lot there is getting me hyped. LA Noire and Need for Speed are both maybes for me.
I’ve moved into backlog mode and will pick some these up via flash sales months from now.
@redd214 @get2sammyb Brilliant! That always online was a pain in the butt.Ok then, that's going on my list for sure.
Already preordered mario, maybe I'll try cod ww2 if the single player is good, I like cod advanced warfare story but blop 3 story is a mess.
Personally the only game I'm at all hyped for next month is Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 and I'm deeply surprised you guys haven't included it.
Need for Speed could be fun. Kinda fancy the Sims too.
Just realised they are both EA games, daaaaaaymn son!
Debating getting COD. I haven't bought a COD game since the first Black Ops.
@KirbyTheVampire That's October, but yeah.
Sonic will be released next month too, right?
Anyway, I'm really interested on Frozen Wilds. Maybe I will buy the new Sonic and Battlefront 2 because of the single-player campaign, but it's difficult to be excited for a new Sonic game and the other one is an EA's game.
@doctommaso True, but it's only a few days away from November, and I doubt I'll be buying any games that month.
Just BF2 for me and I may wait on it. Mario will keep me busy for weeks.
@KirbyTheVampire Sure, that's fair.
No mention of Bubsy & Sonic Forces... The scandal of it!
Hm, I still have a few games that are already out that I am planning on getting. I don't think I will be getting anything new, other than Sims 4 for my wife.
Nothing interesting for me in this list. Which is just as well, since there is a ton of other games to play.
@Th3solution
Yes I highly recommend it. Its a unique experience for sure, but one with an engrossing story & vivid attention to detail. One of the best games from that now non-existent studio.
It's all about Star Ocean!
