2018 is the year of Kingdom Hearts 3. That's all I need
God of war .the man. the icon.the legend kratos.can't wait.word up son
@playstation1995 Agreed, never been this excited for a God of War game. Definitely worth a word up son.
Games wise, even if titles like Days Gone get delayed into 2019 (I think it will); and there's no major first-party announcements that we don't already know about, I think Sony knows they can spend another year coasting off of third-party titles, so I hope they'll instead dedicate resources to more experience-focused improvements.
Stuff like the much-discussed ability to change PSN names and improvements to the stability and speed of the PlayStation Network to meet the expectations of people used to the (considerably less problematic) online experience on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One are all nice things to have, not to mention ways to justify the recent increase to the price of a Plus subscription.
Speaking of Plus, hopefully the current trend of one PS4 retail game per month, one higher-priced download title and a bonus PlayLink/VR title continues, with the bonus titles getting rotated out a little more often - I doubt I'll ever buy a PSVR, but it would be nice to build up a decent library of VR titles, just in case... hell, giving me a decent library of titles through Plus is what eventually swayed me to buy a Vita, so perhaps lightning can strike twice in those regards.
Brief edit - that said, I think all of my whining about features and services is downplaying just how good the PS4's library really is - I've currently got three games on pre-order for this month alone (MonHun, Digimon and Dragon Ball FighterZ); not to mention stuff like Seven Deadly Sins, which I'm having to skip because, well, there's only so much money in the world.
Yes.
A lot of games to be excited for, too many to mention so I'll just say Spelunky 2 and Dreams are two of my most anticipated.
@Cpt_Price definitely agree with you.word up son
I'm looking forward to horsing around in Rockstar's richly detailed open world built specifically for this gen.
RDR2 and Spiderman are my highlights. Hoping TLOU2 does not get delayed to 2019.

Days Gone
God of War
Spider-Man
Ni No Kuni 2
Farcry 5
Detroit Become Human
RDR 2
Vampry
UFC 3
Metro Exodus

other games are unknown so i have to wait for Microsoft to announce more new exclusive games in E3 on June
@sinalefa TLOU 2 won't be out this year because there are too many exclusive games on ps4 coming out this year
Dream
God of War
Days Gone
Detroit Become Human
Spider-Man
Shadow of the Colossus remake
2017 was an AMAZING year for PlayStation especially exclusive games. 2018 has an uphill battle but Kratos will pull them up no problem. Detroit looks like it could be a TLoU type must have experience. Dreams PLEASE release Dreams. And Spider-Man.... Yes 2018 will be a great year for PlayStation!
@DLB3 Yes, we need release dates for Detroit, God of War, RDR 2, Days Gone and Spider-Man
@3Above what games you love so far in 2017 ? i love some games released in 2017 : The Evil Within 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted Lost legacy, Persona 5 and Nier Automata. 2017 was pretty good year to me
Should be a good year, I still have a lot of PS4 games that came out last year that I still need to play.
@porhawj2016 So many! Nier Automata Gravity Rush 2 Lost Legacy Crash Bandicoot Remake Battlefront 2 and my favorite of the year was Horizon. I missed alot of games because of time.
@Bliquid I'm laughing but crying on the inside 😂
Ni No Kuni 2!!! I’m dying for it to finally realease.
@ThePathsofPain me too. it pissed me off when Level-5 devs delayed it again to March 23.. SMH
Dragonball Fighterz
Ni No
RDR2
Maybe the Persona dancing games.
Gotta catch up with some 2017 releases and get excitied for 2019!
Red Dead Redemption
God of War
Spiderman
Ni no Kuni 2
Yakuza 6
Dreams
Detroit
Kingdom Hearts 3
Persona 3 and 5 DAN
Yeah this year is looking pretty epic.
In fact the only problem is im moving house and have to pay nursery fees from feb, so money will be super tight. I think that this year will be clearing the backlog from 2017 and picking up bargins during the year
I could live perfectly happy with only PlayStation exclusives in 2018 if not for Red Dead 2. That’s the one multi platform I can’t live without.
@playstation1995 definitely 👍
Most important thing may 2018 be a great year for gaming exclusive or not indie triple A whatever. The industry will grow all will benefit.
@Tulio517 I feel your pain.
Well, it's certainly not looking like a dark year, that's for sure!
There's plenty of stuff I'm interested in, and even the games I'm not looking at seem pretty cool. Should be a fun year.
Struggle with what? Xbox has no games that Playstation doesn't have...the Switch has some good games but if you're sane you can't choose a Switch over a PS4! If you have both (I do) then ok...but the Switch you play the game 1 time (Mario and Zelda) and then it's done, no achievements or any incentive to go back to the games you already finish makes it a hard console to play for a long long time (at the moment)! So yeah, PS4 will never struggle now, it will probably have a bigger year if Last of Us, God of War, SpiderMan, etc etc come out!
Its too early to determine if it will be a 'strong' year as far as Exclusives go. It has the potential with a lot of games in development BUT few with release dates. The ones I am most interested in are Days Gone, Last of Us 2, Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima. Not interested in Ni No Kuni, SotC, Detroit, Dreams and even God of War won't be a day 1 at all for me so it could be a 'good' year or could end up with 2019 being the good year.
Its no secret that I also have an Xbox X and so multi-platform releases are not specific to Playstation or whether Playstation will be my platform of choice for those. Its still looking like a good year for gaming in general.
As far as Exclusives go, I do think the PS has a better chance of keeping me entertained as games like State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3 etc don't appeal that much. I won't go into details here but of those, Crackdown 3 is a maybe and the expected Forza Horizon 4 is a definite.
Even if you only have 1 console, the multi-plats could well be a good year - RDR2, Metro Exodus, Strange Brigade and Anthem are my top 4 in this area. Far Cry 5 has potential and not sure Monster Hunter, Ace Combat, Biomutant, Code Vein, Darksiders 3, Jurassic World, Skull n Bones, Vampyre etc will make it on to my purchase list - currently on my 'watch, wait and see' list.
Of course some of these may not make 2018 either and no doubt more games will be announced throughout the year so 2018 could be an even better year than it seems right now...
God of War, Dreams, Detroit, Spider-Man, Shadow of the Colossus, Days Gone...I want all these games on day one.
I'm definitely more excited for the exclusive games than the third-party games.
I have a feeling this is going to be another very strong year for PS4. 2017 was great, but 2018 has all the makings of an awesome 12 months of games
2018 is looking kinda blah.
It’s looking like the limiting factor for me will be my free time.
@sinalefa They can't delay TLOU2, it was never confirmed for 2018 to begin with
@Kidfried Same here! First GOW game I'm genuinely interested in.
@Octane
Ok tell that to Push Square
www.pushsquare.com/games/ps4/last_of_us_part_ii
@porhawj2016 same here. I appreciate that they are trying to release the best possible game, but the wait is killing me.
@sinalefa I already did

With delays being a normal occurrence and this being the first month of 2018, it's way too early to tell.
This year has a good chance of becoming PS4's best year yet. Lots of hugely anticipated titles on the way.
@ShogunRok
I have been listening to the epic GoW3 soundtrack recently, has really got me excited for more Kratos. Really need to squeeze in a play through of 3 again, its a flipping storming game.
The making of GoW3 documentary is a fabulous watch, really offers a good insight into what goes on in development at a top studio.
Another year with fantastic 3rd party support, supplemented with incredible exclusives, its the winning formula as far as i am concerned.
Kingdom Hearts 3
Red Dead Redemption 2
God of War
Detroit: Become Human
Spiderman
Days Gone
Wolf Among Us: Season 2
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom
Shadow of the Colossus
Those are my confirmed must-buys for the year and we don't even know half the games coming out in the second half of 2018
@ShogunRok word up son.shredder.😇
As I'm still trying to complete a large backlog of titles and purchase some of the ones I haven't got from this past year, I'm excited for God Of War, Detroit Become Human, Ni No Kuni 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3. I'd still love to see a Twisted Metal, Ape Escape, new Jak And Daxter, new Ratchet And Clank, Sly Cooper 5 and Loco Roco 3 be made...possibly even more PSP goodies. What would really be nice, is if they add an update to the system that allows PS3, PS2 and PS1 games to be played on it!
Once again it’s all about the exclusives and one or two of the better multi-plats like RDR2. Not sure if it will top 2017 but it’s looking like an exciting year.
Thank goodness we have so much choice, everyone shouldn’t be catered for.
Awesome line up this year.
