Yakuza 4 will release on the PlayStation 4 from 17th January in Japan, and SEGA’s announced that its recast the role of Masayoshi Tanimura. One of the game’s four primary protagonists, the rookie cop was originally played by Hiroki Narimiya, but he’s since retired from acting after allegations about his personal life. In order to re-record parts of the dialogue, the publisher’s gone ahead and swapped in Toshiki Masuda instead.
We must admit this seems like a lot of effort to go to just to change a few pieces of the script, so we can’t help but ponder whether there’s more to this than the organisation’s letting on. Alas, we’ll probably never get the full story – indeed, it’s unclear whether this port will even make its way out of Japan.

I hope they do make it out of Japan I wouldn't mind having all the Yakuza games on the PS4. I guess though it all depends on how soon they release the PS5.
If it does make it overseas, it's gotta release in a collection with 3 and 5. Making us buy them all separately is gonna be a pain in the ass.
Japan's very strict about this sort of thing. I remembered a singer being arrested for using illegal stimulants. After that his record label dropped him and all of his albums were removed from major retailers.
It is alright. It is still Yakuza 4
Wait, did I miss the Yakuza 3 remake?
I don't know why the poor guy got so much crap. With the Sugar Tax those Tories have thrown at us it's cheaper to snort coke instead of drinking it. He obviously pre-empted... Seriously though who doesn't do weed or coke these days? The American president looks likes he's high on all kinds of stuff. Oh well. But yay Yakuza 4 Kiwami!
They're obviously planning on bringing him back and did this for consistency when he does return with a new voice.
