Post-apocalyptic sequel Metro: Exodus has gone gold, and to celebrate wrapping up production, the title's opening has been posted online. You can watch it in all of its gritty detail above.
But that's not the only good news for fans of this grim survival shooter series. Originally set for release on the 22nd February 2019, Metro: Exodus has been pushed forward a week, meaning that it'll now carefully creep to PlayStation 4 on the 15th February.
It's also worth noting that it now launches on the same day as Dead or Alive 6, Far Cry: New Dawn, and Jump Force. The 15th's just a tiny bit busy.

I’m excited because both games of the series are great. Good to know that’s coming earlier as well.
@PS_Nation i have the redux collection,but did not have the courage yet to play :/
@jdv95 why don't you have the courage to play it.its not really a scary game.word up son
Excellent, I've played the first two games which were very atmospheric. Nice touch to have the original Russian voice-overs as well. They're currently for sale on PSN for 4 quid a pop, so there's not much reason to try these out before the new one arrives.
@playstation1995 tbh i don't realy know.
i did complete the intro of the first game a couple years ago,but after that first encounter fight with the mutants i just never went back to the game.
i think that the first person view just made it more scarier then i thought.
Cool... Really cool...
Very excited for this game. It looks beautifully creepy!
The devs and publishers must have good confidence in this game to move it to that date with the knowledge of other games releasing at the same time.
@Turismo4GT Metro has always had a pretty passionate and loyal fanbase. Crackdown 3 on the other hand is probably going to be crushed by the competition.
Crackdown 3 on the 15th as well, then Anthem on the 22nd. looks like that backlog is just gona keep gettin bigger & bigger
Too many games in February, I’ll just stick to Dead Or Alive 6 I always loved that series.
@Vonuz I’m anxious to see what the Metacritic score will be for Crackdown 3, it doesn’t look good to me.
This has been one of my most anticipated titles for two years now. I cannot wait for this game.
If it’s already gone gold why don’t they bring its release date forward by an extra week to avoid clashing with those other titles?
@jdv95 this game look so cool but i am not into first person shooter very much. i prefer 3rd person more
RE2, then New Dawn, and then Exodus all within 3 weeks. Nice.
Best fps series imo, I love the whole metro universe. I hope the dark ones are still prevalent, getting the good endings on the first two games was a real highlight. The double pack of redux, which contains BOTH games is £5.89 at the moment. Nice plats too. Bargain.
lock me in a room with Metro and RE2, swear i won't ask for nothing.
This has been one ive VERY MUCH been looking forward to! Day 1 for me
Release date.. Moved forward!?!?
Moved forward..!?!??
What do these strange words mean?
One of my most anticipated releases in 2019. Funny how the 22nd was looking very busy with this, Days Gone, Anthem and Crackdown 3 but now the 15th is 'busy'. Far Cry: New Dawn can wait...
The only games I'll be buying from now till February are RE2 and Days Gone, the rest I'll rent and I'll definitely be renting Metro Exodus after finishing the other two in the series.
@Badboyfx86 I'm really hoping Crackdown 3 will at least be decent with the amount of time it's been in development and all the talk and hype MS gave it. I just don't see how you can collect orbs on rooftops when buildings can be levelled? I'm also still not sold on the whole cloud thing, suppose I'll just find out in couple of months time if the game doesn't get delayed again that is.
Nice. Will definitely get this at some point. Really enjoyed the other 2 games. They really gave me a Halflife2 vibe sometimes
@jdv95 Hope you play the games, it’s not scary. The story is pretty good.
@MaccaMUFC I’m dead certain it won’t be delayed again, we’ll see how it turns out when it launches.
@BAMozzy I know lol that’s crazy
@Futureshark If something is brought forward in space or time, it moves closer to the reference point, if it is pushed back it moves further away from the reference point. For time, the obvious reference point is now, and we face the future, so things are pushed back into the future, or brought forward toward the present
@Badboyfx86
Ahhh... I get you! Ta!
GOTY nominee 100%
So they moved from the previously packed 22nd with 4 games releasing....to a week earlier where the same 4 games already moved to.
Alright.
Damnit, I thought I could play Anthem on 15th for a week and then quickly get through Metro. I guess I might have to split the time now.
Definitely picking this one up
