Following on from Bungie and Activision's separation, there's been a lot of speculation over the now independent developer and the future of Destiny. Would Bungie keep it all going, or would it gradually turn its gaze to something new? Well, going by the studio's latest statement, it sounds like it's prepared to stick to its guns -- Destiny ain't going anywhere soon.
Franchise director Luke Smith writes on the official blog: "Long-term, Bungie is committed to Destiny. We created the universe and we hold its future entirely in our hands. The vast majority of the team is hard at work envisioning future experiences, enemies, and ways to play the Guardian you've been building since 2014. We're going to keep doing that."
Now it's just a question of how Destiny will continue to grow and, hopefully, evolve. Are you enthusiastic about Destiny going forward? What kind of moves would you like to see Bungie make? Keep your eyes up in the comments section below.

Well I hope they make a better commitment then the last time. They said that Destiny was going to be 10 years and it was what 2 years later they released Destiny 2.
Yeah no thanks but your "commitments" mean nothing.
"The vast majority of the team is hard at work envisioning future experiences, enemies, and ways to play the Guardian you've been building since 2014."
So in other words, rinse and repeat for Destiny 3: same enemies, different colours.
@tasuki I don't think they ever meant for Destiny to be just one game, I think it was always planned to be franchise.
The 2014 Guardians that you wiped clean in all but race in 2017 Bungie? Let's not do that again going forward. Just give me more Destiny and not a new Destiny.
No thanks. I'd much rather them make something more akin to Halo. Have a traditional single player adventure that you don't get locked out of if you don't buy the latest DLC. Drop the RPG elements and instead make it a skill based FPS. Streamline everything, particularly by dropping the overly confusing hub world that just drags down the pace.
Destiny has good controls, shooting mechanics, and graphics, but everything else about it can be scrapped.
I loved Destiny at first, but as time went on, the poor design choices became revolting.
Well, keep making new content and Ill keep playing. Forsaken was great - so looking forward to whatis next.
I personally have lost interest in Destiny. Don't get me wrong forsaken was great, well at the start anyway. It got stale quick and it took way too much effort to level up to 600 light.
Does that mean my progress and gear in Destiny 1 will become relevant again? I might start playing if they give me hawkmoon (not to unlock, but just give since I have already) and remove the MTs.
I'm curious to see what will actually change. I liked Destiny 1 well enough when it first came out, but Destiny 2 seemed like more of the same without any substantial changes.
No thanks, fool me once.....
Luke Smith says the guy who said "players would throw money at the screen for emotes". I can see them doing shoddy practices for D3 even more so over 1 & 2 probably more annual passes and twice the Season Passes since Ubisoft have done it with Ghost Recon Wildlands
I am intriguied as most pushsquare readers will know I have a huge softspot for Destiny however I am unsure how this will go, personally I think they are on the right variation of the engine and now its major tweaks to get it perfect, I love the idea of the annual pass at say £40 a year that works lovely for me its no more expensive than buying a AAA game (sorta).
That said its September we all need to watch now to see what Bungie do come then !

It's OK, but I would like them to stop re-using content, and make it less of a grind fest. More genuinely new content. Also more RPG elements and story based content. At the moment, a couple of week after you hit level cap, it gets pretty dull. I have stopped playing again and am waiting for more new content in March, or whenever.
