ANTHEM is available to play right now on PC and Xbox One, but only with EA's early access mumbo jumbo. Or at least, it would be, if it wasn't already plagued by connection issues. The web is currently rampant with complaints, forcing EA's official help accounts on social media to say that it's aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
This story obviously has little to do with PlayStation right now, but we can't ignore the fact that ANTHEM is set to launch next week on PS4. The private demo, which was basically a beta in all but name, was initially a wreck on Sony's system, and so these recurring connection issues are a bit worrying ahead of the full release. Hopefully EA can get it all sorted relatively quickly.
Do you think ANTHEM will launch without any issues? Feel free to laugh in the comments section below.

They are playing without the day one patch. I'm hoping that helps.

There is more chance of Mario on PS4 than Anthem launching without issues, looking forward to the internet meltdowns already
This gives BioWare at east a week to get things sorted - you have to thank those early access gamers for giving the game a final 'beta' test in readiness for the rest of the world...
@Cheski Fixed
Let them test stress the servers so it can all be fixed when the important people boot up. I don't mind this at all.
Turn out the lights....Biowares party is over
$100 well spent, or whatever the price was of the paid beta shenanigans.
why do people pay a pretty penny for early access again?
VIP demo was a wreck on all systems not just PS4. discs were probably already printed before the demo was available, some of the improvements for the public demo may not have made it into production code yet. though i'd be surprised if there's more people with EA early access than there was for the demo to be honest, so the connection issue doesn't bode well for when the plebs get their grubby mitts on it.
Will we start seeing reviews this week then?
Hopefully they'll help me to decide if I want to pick the game up. I was looking forward to the game initially but not so much anymore...
GameInformer streaming live and it's crashed 5 times.
Pay to play early.... I mean pay to stress test our servers early
@misterMike thanks for the clarification. I am glad you are happy with the value, that is all that matters! Have a great weekend.
Played about 5 or so hours today on the Xbox One. Actually had many more connection issues than I did during either of the demo weekends on the ps4. When I did get it it was very smooth to play and a helluva lot of fun. Really excited for the full releae
I wonder how “widespread” these issues really are. I haven’t had any issues in alpha, vip demo, public demo or the early access I’m playing right now.
Even though we still don’t have the day one patch, since it’s early access.
EA Access: Where you can watch the loading screens and error code for our new always online Sci-fi epic!
Remind me why people want EA access on PlayStation again?
@Octane ??? Early access is £14
But the game runs brilliantly, no server issues after the first one for me.
Had no problems with the demo but couldn't really get into Anthem. Will give it another go after release though.
Imagine playing Anthem when Apex Legends exists.
@Cpt_Price What are you talking about?
@CK97 I enjoy Apex Legends but these games don't share much in common. One is for the Fortnite crowd, the other is for the Destiny lot. The only thing they share is online really.
@Shellcore also, one is fun to play while pushing it's genre forward and the other isn't because it's just another boring rehash of what we've already seen.
@CK97 Fair enough. I think they are both quite similar to their inspirations. Shame you didn't enjoy Anthem.
