The next PS4 exclusive from Sony's Worldwide Studios is ready to go. Development has officially wrapped on Days Gone, the open world survival game from Bend Studio, achieving the status known as having gone gold.
The team, pictured in the above tweet, has reached this milestone in plenty of time ahead of the game's 26th April launch. We recently went hands on with the title, and were left pretty impressed by what we played. Bend Studio has gone from a history of handheld games to a full-blown home console experience, and it's quite the achievement for the Oregon developer.
Are you excited for Days Gone? Will you be joining Deacon St. John on the broken road? Ride or die in the comments below.

I would have lost my mind if you hadn't used 'Days Gone Gold' as the tagline.
Day one if the game reviews well (at least 80 mc), I like 3rd person far cry like open world game that has good story
@playstation1995 yes it gonna be amazing but i don't think it getting 90 on Metacritic.. it may end up with 85
I'm still very skeptical about it, but I liked the recent footage.
I bet this game truly could have went gold sometime late last year.
Congratulations and good luck to them! Can’t wait to play the game next month.
@Frigate Sony bend is kind of a small studio so the studio having less women working for them then say guerrilla games and Naughty dog make Sense.
Massive congratulations to Bend Studio, every interview I watched from the devs showed how much passion they have for Days Gone.
I can't wait to play the game, looks awesome.
Iam Pretty Sure this game will do Great
After This i hope they do Go Back to Siphon Filter
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually excited for this game after hearing so many critics praising the game a few days ago. I'm going into this game with no expectations. I know that it's not going to be revolutionary, and the game itself follows the tropes of many games similar, but hearing that those tropes are really well executed is enough for me.
@ResidentEvil2 That's my opinion as well. The game will possibly be getting 8's across the board. However, I do think it's possible that this game can receive 9's — and that's if it has a compelling narrative from beginning to end. From all the previews I've read, it seems that the story is really good, or at least for the first five hours.
@ResidentEvil2 probably. a 85 is still great.so I'm hype .word up son
I’m super excited for this game and am glad it’s all good to go. I haven’t played an open world game in a while so I’m looking forward to revving this game up!
Great news! Can't wait to get my Negan on and Lucille some skulls.
Not every game Sony drops is going to be G.O.T contender and I'm honestly just fine with that! All I ask is that they release good games, games that our worth our hard earned dollars. So far they haven't let me down this gen at all. Days Gone is a day one buy for me!
Looking forward to it. The recent info and trailers looked very promising.
Days Gone gone gold. Fantastic. Time to pre order.
@playstation1995
Meta will implode and disintegrate from Days Gone awesomeness.
@OMG_Waffles I agree with you.days gone is a day one.nice waffle profile picture.now I'm hungry haha word up son
@JJ2 I agree .the first time I saw this game it was a amazing reveal.bend studio made my third favorite franchises ever in syphon filter.so I'm always going to support them.days gone will be a great game.in all the ps4 game since the beginning of ps4 in 2013.i want days gone to to so great .because they have some haters out there thinking days gone won't be good.haha.days gone will be amazing.word up son
Definitely getting this, just trying to decide if I want the steelbook from Amazon. I’m a sucker for a good steelbook.
Pre-ordered the Steel book version a while back and looking forward to it. I see some previews are not overly positive - not that it affects my decision and may help lower my expectations and therefore enjoy the game much more now...
This game looks like a lot of fun to me. I’m gonna wait until the reviews though to see if it all comes together well or not. Messing with hordes seems particularly interesting. Hopefully the performance is there.
@Nerdfather1 yeah few 7, maybe one in 6 or less. alot 8 and alot 9 and couples of 10/10 : around 85
@playstation1995 yeah because some stupid website gonna give it 7 or low that why i said it will get at least 85.. alot 8, 9 and few 10
@ResidentEvil2 yeah I agree haters everywhere.but this game will get great reviews.89 is days gone time to shine.👍.word up son
Funny. No Gaas or bs MP and the game is polished and finished over a month early. And a 1st party Sony studio you say? Who would of thunk it?? Lol. Can't wait. Sony doesnt greenlight titles anymore in house that dont seem to be GotY contenders
@ShogunRok I saw Days Gone Gold as the tag line on the front page and assumed Sammy must have written the article. He must be moping that he didn't get the chance. That and when the site first launched "gone gold" articles always seemed to make him happy. Just seeing the news on Twitter yesterday made me joyfully nostalgic.
And then I remembered "gone gold" these days means a 90GB day 1 patch, so the moment was fleeting. 😝
With the game now ready to release wouldn’t it make sense to at least make it available on the PS Store right now before games like The Division 2, Sekiro SDT, Generation Zero, World War Z and Mortal Kombat 11 all release before it’s physical original release date on 26th April?
@playstation1995
Its all about the crispy, buttery, sticky sweat goodness of the waffles bro!
@OMG_Waffles haha with aunt jemima syrup.butter bacon and orange juice .tropicana orange juice or minute maid oj.best breakfast ever.word up son
@MaccaMUFC
wouldnt that mean killing retail sales and justifying a digital higher price?
Doesnt sound good to me.
Besides while the game is shipping to retails, it still gives more time to work on the unavoidable day one patch.
@JJ2 I don’t think Sony and Sony Bend would care much about retail sales if the digital sales was a huge success, we know now that digital sales make up for the majority of sales these days. If people prefer to buy a physical copy then it’s up to them to wait till 26th April but there’s nothing stopping Sony putting Days Gone on the PS Store right now, it’s happened before to games releasing digitally first then retail at a later date.
@MaccaMUFC
I mean, I know it's good for the publishers to push digital sales. I'm more concerned for the consumers and the future of retail discs.
This game is reason why I bought a ps pro. I’ve never bought a game in advance before... and I’ve bought physical collectors edition and digital version..... I dunno, I’m obsessed with it... damm Bend studios, never even heard of them or Syphon Filter before this was previewed however many years ago... kinda enjoying the ride!
I pre ordered it but the excitement has worn off and really don't know if I can be bothered to play it.
Im really looking forward to it. Ill keep my expectations in line. Id say the only thing im feeling weary about is frame rate, especially concerning the hordes
Really looking forward to this one. Based on recent impressions here and on the PS blog have actually bumped up when I will be picking this up on my game list.
