FIFA 20 has just got its official reveal trailer, and it's clear that this year, there's going to be a heavy emphasis on its FIFA Street-esque 'Volta' modes. 'Volta' is what EA Sports is calling smaller, urban football matches, and they seem to make up a big part of 2019's package.
To some extent, Volta is going to make up for FIFA's Journey story mode, which ended with last year's instalment. You're going to be able to make your own character and customise their appearance. "Build up your squad in VOLTA World, lead your player through the VOLTA Story Mode, play through Promotion and Relegation in the online VOLTA League, or take your favourite professional teams to the streets in VOLTA Kick-Off," reads the press release.
We'll no doubt be seeing more of FIFA 20 during EA's EA Play livestream, so keep an eye out for gameplay over the next couple of days.

Always loved fifa Street so this has peaked my interest. I'll keep an eye out. Haven't owned a fifa since '17.
Absolutely love FIFA Street so I'm hoping this is as fleshed out as it seems. I skipped FIFA 19, so this will pull me back in I hope.
Well that's a good way of making me buy FIFA 20. Love it!
Btw guys, how disappointed were you with England losing vs Netherlands?
@AFCC I wanted Holland to win because Big Virg deserves to win everything.
@ShogunRok yo don't do my boy Portugal like that! We want the win
Liverpool fan then?
@AFCC I wasn't really fussed personally. It's good that England are a better team these days, but club over country — especially when it comes to these silly tin-pot tournaments and awful qualifiers.
@get2sammyb well yeah, England's been really lackluster lately! I think these 2 past years have been good fir yiu guys...But honestly I look at your team and it seems awful to me...I mean Pickford? Come on.
Anyway, yeah this competition is meh right now but maybe in the future it will be important? It's better than the stupid qualifier games that's for sure..
@AFCC Of course!
Six times!
The England fans jeering Virgil and Gini. Pure jelly.
I successfully escaped the tight grips of FIFA 18 & 19 and skipped both. I'm looking forward to 20 though. I found it a chore playing the journey in 17, I think the Street thing I'll probably like better.
@get2sammyb If you skipped FIFA 19 you're in luck, you can buy it new as FIFA 20 on Switch. 😝
So it's just the next gimmick for EA to use then? Wonder how many MTX are in it?
@ShogunRok @ShogunRok but never a premier league... take what you can get I suppose 😝
Yet again another gimmick like champions league last year so they dont have to touch the important stuff like giving us back the career mode they cut and left us with crappy version we have now
but it will never change the only thing they care about is the fools paying them loads of cash to buy players and each fifa
@rjejr lol more like if you skipped fifa 18 you can buy it on all formats again as fifa 19 and fifa 20
@Katep Let's watch the language from now on please.
Thanks
