Bandai Namco has announced a game based on popular manga and anime series One Punch Man. All we've got to go on right now is the above trailer, and a description that tells us it's a three-on-three brawler. It's titled One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows.
So, er, is Saitama going to be able to one-shot every other character? How's this going to work? Punch your way into the comments section below.

anyone else notice the only series Bandai Namco put any kind of effort into is Dragon Ball and Naruto
this looks like all the other anime arena brawlers they have released over the past 10 years
it will probably be done by Spike Chunsoft too so they will just use the same engine they have used since Burning Blood again
@FullbringIchigo I was just about to say, another team-based arena brawler from Bandai Namco? Its track record hasn't been great recently, either...
@ShogunRok i know, i mean i enjoyed playing Jump Force but that only because my fanboyisum of so many Manga series together got me through it
but at it's core it was a pretty bland and shallow fighter and this looks like more of the same
oh well at least we got DBZ Kakarot to look forward too, at least it's something different
Would have been much better off making this a standard action game, this didn't need to be a brawler, much less a 3v3 one.
If I pick Saitama I should be able to defeat any of the other characters within a second, right?
This would need to be a carefully constructed narrative based game that pushes games forwards by pioneering a new way to tell a story in order to work and convey being One Punch Man.
A 3v3 brawler doesn’t work for that. It’s a hard property for a game to be adapted into, much less without being a very very thought and risky project.
Yeah, just another anime brawler.
I believe this game will do a disservice to OPM.
I hope I’m wrong.
Love me some brawlers
I thought MHA: One Justice turned out to be a pretty good game. Besides that, Bandai Namco games I have played as of late haven't been too good.
@WanderingBullet "If I pick Saitama I should be able to defeat any of the other characters within a second, right?"
What was my thought as well*, why make it a 3v3 brawler?
Watched the vid - so generic. Like they skinned a Naruto game. A really old bland no textures no effort Naruto game.
@FullbringIchigo I couldn't agree more. I love One Punch Man but I'm already sick of playing mediocre unbalanced arena fighters. If they really wanted to go down on this route, they could have instead hired Byking or Cyberconnect2 too make it but nah.
This just in: Bandai Namco to relase another boring and uninspired game based an exciting and inspiring anime!
YES! Been waiting for something like this to appear. I love the trailer and can't wait to see more.
Good to see Mumen Rider is in the mix. My big hope would be that we see D-Pad and Funeral Suspenders.
Do they all have to be arena brawlers? Why can’t there be more games like Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, as in actually try to make a decent game out of it?
@rjejr I think the character models looked pretty good but everything else looks same old same old. It's like Bandai Namco running out of ideas on what to do with manga/anime-related games.
it feels weird having a ONE PUNCH MAN game where it takes Saitama more than 1 punch to defeat someone, it just feels wrong......
No doubt One Punch Mans will loves this but personally, I might probably like it more than Jump Force (and definitely more than Knights of Brittannia) but that's really isn't saying much. Games like Fist of the North Star and FighterZ clearly set up the standards of what anime games should be like in terms of quality.
I will no doubt expect fans to enjoy this but I wouldn't expect them to be surprised if the game only gets probably 3 DLC characters. Remember the rumors about One's Justice possible 4th character? And what about Shinobi Striker? I don't much updates regarding about the game. And let's not forget about the mediocre release that was Knights of Brittannia and the dead-on-arrival Quartet Knights, which took them many months just to release three DLC characters (probably because of the terrible marketing from Bandai). Oh, and remember that Tokyo Ghoul game? I haven't seen much coverage of it. If anime fans are still going to keep supporting mediocre anime games that recieve lesser support compared to the like of Naruto, Dragonball and SAO games, and maybe to some extent, One Piece and Gundam games (though only the latter is more probable), then it's no wonder why Bandai never learns from its mistakes. Here's hoping that Kill La Kill game ends up being at least decent.
Also, sorry if my post was a bit too long. I couldn't control myself haha.
@SoulsBourne128 or omega-force and made a "Warriors" style game, that would have been a good fit for OPM
Graphically it looks lovely but you'd think a OPM game would have to be an action adventure of some sort, right? Can't imagine this will be much good but you never know. It would be hilarious if Saitama could take out every fighter in one hit though and the only way to beat him was to get a perfect victory.
@WanderingBullet The characters look like they should but showing them off fighting in an empty lot isn't selling me at all.
Now to be fair I've only seen season 1 so far, but what I remember is the giant ship battle at the end taking place in space. If they want to sell me, show me some of that.
I don't know how this is going to work
