Surprise! Bethesda has kicked off its annual QuakeCon event with an "available now" announcement. If you're a fan of the original DOOM games, you're in luck -- DOOMs 1, 2, and 3 are all up for purchase right now on PlayStation 4.
The first two titles include split-screen multiplayer for four players, while the third game includes the Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Missions expansion packs. DOOM 1 and 2 are £3.99/$4.99 each, while DOOM 3 is a little more at £7.99/$9.99. If you're after a truly old school shooter, you can't do much better than these.
Will you be playing these classic FPS titles on PS4? Run and gun in the comments below.

Do they have trophies. And if yes are they insane or doable?
would it be possible to get brutal doom working on consoles?
Oh my god!!! These games will be the downfall of society!!!!
Apparently these require a Bethesda.net login for some reason from what I've been hearing.
These require a constant internet connection so get them on anything other than Switch.
Well that’s pretty neat, I’ll be getting my Doom on this weekend for sure
@Knuckles-Fajita really, why the hell do they need a constant internet connection?
@Knuckles-Fajita My Switch has a constant wired internet connection b/c it never leaves the dock. I paid for a screen and battery I never use. And Joycon, I only play with my wired faux Pro.
The always online for a $5 offline game is pretty stupid though. But, if it was free I'd be OK with the always online, the price of signing up.
@FullbringIchigo Nooo idea. Bethesda I guess.
You need a Bethesda Net login. So er….yep.
@rjejr @Knuckles-Fajita @FullbringIchigo they don't require a constant internet connection, just an initial sign in with Bethesda.net and then it doesn't matter if you're connected or not. I'm playing on my Switch now with no internet
I love classic Doom, this is very tempting. Each game has its own platinum trophy too as they should.
@carlos82 OH OK
@FullbringIchigo I don't want the game to end 😉
Why not on PSNow?
Always been curious about Doom 3 as I heard mostly negative things about it. Maybe now is a good chance to try it out and see what was up.
Can I ask a really dumb question - do these games hold up?
I LOVED them as a kid, and I LOVED the new one that came out a few years ago. I have a fear of returning to the old one and being sorely disappointed.
Thoughts?
@IanDavid A while ago Duke Nukem was free with ps plus on the PS3 and I had an absolute blast playing through the entire campaign. If you loved DOOM back then and you liked the new one I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy replaying at least one of them.
Its not just nostalgia, its just that the gameplay is so simple but on the same time its very focused. No story to speak of, no lootbox nonsense, just shooting bad guys in the face. And for a fiver you cant really go wrong
@Knuckles-Fajita they are NOT always online. If the Switch is not connected to the internet, on startup it will say "unable to login to Bathesda account", you click okay, and carry in to the game.
Are these the same as the versions that are on the Doom 3 BFG for the PS3?
Boom!! Cha-cha.
Boom!! Cha-cha.
Boom!! Cha-cha.
Doom 3 is not available in the German PSN store, but the Switch's eShop has it. O_o Warum?
Quake. I want a Quake game of some form on my current gen console. No, I don’t want to join the PC crowd. I love Doom but a solid, single player, campaign, Quake game would be awesome.
I used to love the Doom games back in the day, Duke Nukem and Quake 1 +2 as well, fond memories. Replaying the Duke World Tour was great fun, so I will definitely pick up the first 2 games at some point. Third one, not in a hurry for. It was ok, but it didn't feel like a Doom game.
With a controversy free of charge!
August ps+ title released: Doom (1993)
Does anyone remember the great Doom 1 port on the ps1...'cos apparently bethesda doesn't...apparently these ports were done using Unity! For good measure,bugthesda must've unlocked running ps3 games natively on ps4 as they've delisted the ps3 Doom BFG game from the psn for good measure!
yes I know it isn't possible, just that someone forgot to tell bethesda!
Absolutely no danger am I giving my details to Bethesda just to play old doom games that don't even need an online connection ...try again Bethesda
@iARDAs yes they do & each game has a platinum Trophy
