Could Gran Turismo Sport be a part of the PS5's launch line up come holiday 2020? It's definitely a possibility because in an exclusive Wired interview, the website confirmed that Polyphony Digital's serious racer is already running on the next-gen system's devkit.
While confirming that the devkit itself does indeed look very similar to one that was outed recently, Wired reveals that Gran Turismo Sport is playable on it. While this is on no way confirmation of a PS5 version, we'd now be surprised not to see a Gran Turismo title at launch late next year.
In combination with the game, the all-new adaptive triggers seem to change the experience in a meaningful way. "Driving on the border between the track and the dirt, I could feel both surfaces. Doing the same thing on the same track using a DualShock 4 on a PS4, that sensation disappeared entirely. It wasn't that the old style rumble feedback paled in comparison, it was that there was no feedback at all."

That's nice for them but how about a full new entry in the series?
As long as I wouldn’t have to pay for it again, that’s great!
Here's hoping it supports Logitech driving wheels again.
I hope we don't have to pay for the same game again for "upgraded" graphics.
i can't imagine too many people would interested in paying for the same game again. unless it's planning to boost its first party launch line up with 'enhanced' versions of some of its PS4 games - and if you own the PS4 disc already it will act as a launcher and let you download a PS5 version of the game. GTsport makes sense as it as an online focus. polyphony getting a GT7 ready in the 3 years between GTsport and PS5 seems incredibly unlikely.
I actually feel pretty good about this if GT Sport officially has an upgraded version for the PS5. I imagine Sony will want to keep the FIA tournaments going on the new hardware while working on the real GT7. Technically it means we should have at least 2 GT titles on PS5 instead of the 1 this generation.
it seems that they are going all in on making current gen exlusives be available on ps5 and that's great aslong as they don't forget to have actuall NEW ps5 games at the console's launch.
i mean i just want HZD 2 already
Aren't ALL PS4 games part of the PS5 launch line-up b/c of backwards compatibility?
@rjejr True, but they can always repackage them to put on the store shelves, maybe with 4K textures and whatnot.
With Gran Turismo Sports, the focus is on eSports and I believe they will make this version a free upgrade with the possibility of including dynamic weather and time along with full VR support. Gran Turismo 7 will be the actual PS5 title.
I think we’ll see Gran Turismo 7 quite early in the gen.
@ApostateMage What have they done? Are Logitech steering wheels unusable now? I have one But i haven’t played the game in a while.
@ApostateMage I was using mine a few weeks ago. Have they disabled them?
I hope they flesh out the VR mode. Or better yet, go back to the original idea and make the entire game playable in VR.
@Jfilthy Sony partnered with Thrustmaster this gen so many Logitech wheels that worked on the PS3 are not compatible with the PS4. Nice one, Sony.
i guess people have forgotten already, so here is a reminder how they release gt..
ps3 gt5 academy edition with all dlc and patches on disc
ps3 gt6 (a improved version of gt5)
ps4 gt sport
ps4 gt sport spec2 with all dlc and patches on 2 disc
ps4 gt sport for ps5 (a improved version of gt sport)
ps5 gt7
this is how it will go down, and dont forget they will close the servers when gt7 get released. and since gt sport depend on servers for gameplay and save file, it will become useless.
Gran turismo 7 with offline single player campaign seems good for ps5 launch title
I wonder if it will have new features, apart from new rumble..
Gran Turismo Sport is already an excellent showcase, so who know what Ray-tracing could bring to the table
You won't have to rebuy the game if you already own it. It will just be a PS5 patch.
Confirmed? No
I'm just basing this statement on morals.
As long as we can cross platform and keep our profiles i'dd like to play GT Sport on PS5 and get the visual quality upgrade that i dont want to pay for a PS4 Pro + 4k TV in his end of life.
Will buy a 4k TV for the PS5, not before.
Actually on std PS4 and 1080p projector, dont want a middle upgrade.
@LaJettatura ^This SO MUCH
Why would I need to buy gran turismo again?...I don't re buy all my games on pc when I upgrade my gpu.
