PS5 Pre-Orders Are Live on UK Retailer Box Right Now

Good luck folks, I was lucky enough to bag one at Argos this morning. So fingers crossed for all of you yet to snag one 🤞

I got mine on Amazon yesterday but I just tried one of the links above to see if it had already sold out and I just get "This service is currently unavailable". Wow, seems like there's a rush of people messing up the site.

Cool Box art that I don't know why but it reminds me of the PS1 days(maybe it's the PS icons) Amazing I got a pre-order yesterday just by luck on Amazon(UK) then the next second it was out of stock. Hopefully the Amazon delivery driver doesn't throw my PS5 Box around and I get it all smashed up

just got mine in Denmark and after 1 hour every major retailer is out of stock

I just kept refreshing when i got the 'Service Unavailable' screen and the order finally went through

I just have a picture in my head of the horde from Days Gone, now descending on box.co.uk...

Anyone heard of box before today? Hope everyone who wants one can get one 👍

@Carl-G This is my only worry, I have never had a console delivered for this reason but there was no way around it this time! We can only hope each one is delivered in an armour plated van with foam crash bags like in Demolition man 😜

@Carl-G if you think having it smashed up would be bad enough wait till they leave it on your doorstep with no one home for 2 hours, thats what happened to me last weekend with my replacement razer controller, I wasnt pleased the ironic thing is it said left with resident, what the whole street lol anyway I hope they take care of our packages 😆

After much refreshing I finally got through to payment, entered my details... waited...sent back to payment screen...reentered details...waited... spat back out and told none in stock anymore. Grrrr

@Rob_230 I'm from the UK and have never heard of them eirher. Not saying that makes them untrustworthy but they're definitely not a household name.

Also worth checking Argos. I’ve checked about 30 times this morning and most of the time it says not available but sometimes like just a moment ago they have stock and you can continue to checkout.

@hoffa007 @Matroska Lol right? Im so glad it's not just me 😅 im sure they are trustworthy as you say, but its certainly a new one on me. But more competition for Amazon always a good thing (says me with my PS5 preorder at Amazon 😬) - although i kind of blame ShopTo for not sending me the email telling me preorders were going live...

Got mine pre ordered from smyths at Wednesday midnight, to be honest I'm tempted to sell mine straight away for a big profit

Tried with The Game Collection yesterday. Got to the final stage of checkout 4 times but it just crashed and eventually they just removed it from my basket and said it was out of stock
Similar thing happened with Argos this morning. added to basket, ready for checkout and then final page there was no longer any stock.
Really wanted to get a PS5 as a lil treat for myself after a mental last 6 months catching Covid, followed by pneumonia, heart attack, organ failure and then need for emergency surgery (i'm only 28!) ... But clearly 2020 just wants to keep me down!

@Perryg92 Hey buddy. Hope you are starting to feel better. That sounds like 2020 has been particularly cruel for you. What i would say on PS5 is keep the faith. There will be more stock coming in so keep an eye on here and other sites for updates on when systems will be made available to preorder and where.

Im waiting next year ill finish my BC first on PS4. Just like every generation im in no rush
with some discounted PS5 games and maybe a extra controller or something else.

I went to Argos around 10:30am today, for straight to the page, added to cart and checked out in 5 mins, painless, must’ve been one of the last because I checked a few mins later and all gone. Order confirmed. After yesterday’s nightmare with RTX 3080 this was a lucky breeze

Had I interest recorded at shop to since April. So turned into a preorder yesterday

My local Game store said they had loads in store check with local game store they will let you also choose launch games too!

That's hilarious, I received an email from currys pcworld saying that they'd got a limited number available to preorder at midday today so thought I'd have a look to see if that was true and basically got into a queue on the website that says I'm number 17253 and that there are 16684 people ahead of me.

I didnt receive my email from shopto either, like you say they will email once they know the price and release date to then give us a decision if we want to go ahead and preorder. I went with amazon to.

Got through the payment had to load everything 4 or 5 times in-between the site crashing, as soon as payment went through the page crashed and said basket empty no reference code or email but checked my bank I've been charged. Not sure if i have one or not 🤷‍♂️

@Terry12 Yes mate I got the email about 10 minutes later stating the order was accepted (payment has gone) and delivery will be on the 19th, like you I wasn't sure until that came through even with the confirmation number but I hope for you they are just busy with online traffic and it will come through shortly 🤞

@jamberino93 from the UK, living abroad now. Everywhere here has Xbox preorder interest up and running for the 22nd. But none of them have anything to say about the PS5. Annoying.

@Icey664 Mate I think I was really lucky, the website stated a 9 am opening for orders as of yesterday and I was up and ready before 9 to get in there quick but at nine it kept saying out of stock then I read it went live around 6 am and I just presumed I had yet again missed out. Then not sure why but I tried again 5 minutes later and it went through no worries, cash gone out of the bank and I got the confirmation 10 minutes later.
I have a couple of mates who couldn't get delivery due to post code and missed out, it is a real sh*t show to be honest. Got my fingers crossed for you all though 🤞

I tried to pre-order with Box, their webpage couldn't handle the traffic, paid the deposit and page wouldn't load.

Tried it again and now I've received two confirmation of order emails from Box with different order numbers.

I've just contacted their customer service via email to explain and ask they cancel one pre-order.

I have no inclination nor desire to profit from a pre-order or deny someone a potential Christmas gift. I couldn't have that on my conscience.

Knowing my luck, they cancel both .

I guess i will remove my expression of interest to open up the unit for someone else to order, but on the otherhand there is that niggling thought at the back of my mind that Amazon may cancel my preorder given they haven't taken any money and wont till they process the order 😬

Hi there fellow gamers. I was able to pre-order mine in my country, Portugal and some of my friends were able to do the same, but this has been a chaotic disaster.
Sony should have done what MS did with having a proper day so people could pre-order without a fuss and not be in this mess.
Unless Sony can bring more systems worldwide for such a high demand, I don´t know if fans won´t just buy the Xbox instead
(I wouldn´t, but some people may do that just out of spice)
Hope Sony makes somekind of arrangement to make sure most people can get their PS5 at launch.

I was grumbling in an earlier comment about being thrown out of the payment page to be told they’d run out of stock. I’ve now just received an email confirming my order! If anyone else had the same problem as me, check your emails in case it did actually go through.

It also means my ShopTo expression of interest, which has been turned into a preorder, isn’t needed anymore. Of course I’ll cancel it but it would be great if I could pass it over to someone here

@Rob_230 i know what you mean, have you tried to log in to your shopto account at all? Was you able to? I try to log in and it just boots me back to the log in screen so just thought I would ask.

Amazon won't take payment till despatch and I think shopto will take it on the 17th by what the email said.

The site makes it look like there's still stock. I created an account and everything and then when it got to the final bit it just said sorry the PS5 is out of stock.

I will be honest I have never heard of Box.. but I am sure they are fine. I got my from game. I stumbled across the pre order page for PS5 as I was shopping for games

Weird thing... I tried later just to see if I could, and even though it was saying Sold Out for the PS5, I still managed to get through to check out, pay and got a confirmation email with order number.... go figure

@Icey664 Great news mate, chuffed for you! It is strange I think maybe they have staggered it without stating so to try and stop scalpers perhaps!?!?

Having been through this every Playstation release it's come as no surprise. I'd signed-up to a few places but ended up getting one by chance from Amazon Thursday morning. None of the retailers I'd signed up for had any in stock by the time I got the notification email.

Doesn't really matter when pre-orders go live, always seems to be complete chance if you get one or not.

My Target preorder says Nov 13-18 delivery window. And I am A-okay with that 👍🏼
