PS5 Display Stand Appears in Japanese Store

Wish they would have had black or white cases to match the border.

Japan is actually doing much better than a lot of other places (not saying they're doing great, but better). Retail hasn't seen the drop that was expected. Of course there is one, obviously, but not at the levels projected. Hospitality has taken the biggest hit, but kombinis are still doing okay. Toho cinemas have also pretty much wiped out their losses from earlier this year, close to matching last year's record numbers. Will probably see a big push on the high street, for the PS5. Pretty exciting.

Shop/Store??? What does that mean??? Spiderman and Sackboy i would pick up on day 1 Even tho Sackboy isn't in the photo + Watch_Dogs later on.

If I die before the PS5 releases, I'm going to kick God square in the balls so hard that they go inside.

Can't wait for demon's souls, spidey mm, godfall (I'm more hyped for the game after the previews from japan youtubers), and ghost of tsushima 60 fps patch. I think I'm gonna save the 3rd island for ps5 playthrough 😃

@wiiware same about Godfall. The developer previews did nothing for the game. The videos from 2bro really got me excited.

It’s interesting. In the past a Playstation Launch would be loaded with new, Japanese developed exclusives to make the most out of the console. This time, Demon’s Souls is the closest thing and even that’s a from the ground up remake. I still remember buying PS2 & PS3 games well into their successors’ lives. Wonder if the same will happen here or if developers will jump faster?

Wait is there a Neptunia game coming to PS5? And what's that game with Tetris and angry birds?

Don’t think so. That’s an atelier game in the pic. Come to think of it I might have heard about a new game in Japan, another remake of rebirth perhaps...

And it’s Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, maybe.

@DualWielding @thefourfoldroot The games are; Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Atelier Ryza 2, and Go! Go! 5 Jigen Game Neptune reVerse - a second remake of the first game and essentially a remake of the PS Vita game. (It's also full price. A remake of a PS Vita game, that was a remake of a PS3 game... at ¥7,600 [$70]... I think it's one to pass on).

@TheIdleCritic Subjective. I think it looks like Wii stand. Nothing against Wii. This looks cheap... like PS4 from Wish.

@djlard I mean.. it's not a big deal. It's just the case. I doubt people really care what it looks like, as long as shows what game it is and you can put a disc inside. They'll just be put spine out on a shelf anyway.

@TheIdleCritic As same as I'll try to hide console behind tv, I'll try to hide disc cases rather than to be proudly displayed... Personally, this (PS5) generation has disgustingly ugly design.

Am I the only one who misses the days of the colourful and creatively different Japanese game covers? There were some utterly brilliant ones in the past. I kinda miss the unique regional flavours to things now.

@djlard While I agree that the cases are a step back from the PS4 cases (its a weird inverted color scheme), I don't think they are that bad. And the PS5 actually looks pretty nice. Definitely a lot better than the PS3, PS4 or the Xbox (all).

@TheIdleCritic I certainly care what it looks like. The presentation of any collection is an important aspect to that collection; but this change, while fairly ugly, is far better than, say, a GameStop "printed" insert replacement.
