Destruction AllStars will be priced at $19.99 on the PlayStation Store once it is cycled out of PlayStation Plus at the end of March 2021. Confirmed over on the PlayStation Blog, developer Lucid Games reckons this pricepoint represents good value for money. "This is a great value, and helps ensure the mayhem will continue long after our PlayStation Plus promotion comes to an end. Of course if you’ve already added the game to your library, it’s yours to keep as long as you’re an active PlayStation Plus subscriber." This is, naturally, a dramatically smaller cost to pay compared to the $70 it was going to be priced at before the PlayStation 5 launched.
If you've already grabbed the title through PS Plus then you obviously won't have to pay a penny to keep playing as long as you're subscription remains active — this simply applies to those who wish to purchase Destruction AllStars once it has left the service.
Elsewhere in the blog post, Lucid Games lays out its short-term plans for Destruction AllStars content, including double XP weekends, Challenge series, and new skins. "Once again, we just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s been playing the game, sharing their clips and asking what’s coming next in Destruction AllStars. We’ve got plenty in store for you and we can’t wait to share more about it soon!"
Do you think that's the right price for Destruction AllStars? Or maybe it should be higher or even lower? Either way, share your thoughts in the comments below.

That's definitely welcome news.
However (and, yes, I'm going to be that guy), I personally still don't think it's worth $20. You can buy multiple amazing indie games for $20. Until they dramatically beef up the content, implement more quality-of-life features, and cut down on the monetization, I don't think they should attach a price tag to this. I know many will disagree, but that's just me.
Nice, now that was a good decision. Still, the game suffers some lack of content. I'd still play this over something like Hardware Rivals but regardless, it needs more stuff cause the cosmetics that you unlock are underwhelming. They should really emphasize on expanding the content of the game. Maybe do some collab or something.
That's a better price point than 70. But I played it for the first few days for few hrs but got bored fast, it's ok on short bursts, but don't see myself going back anytime soon, think I may have deleted it the other day.
This is what I expected. I mean - not sure if this is exactly the price I expected, but I did expect they wouldn't go back to the original price.
Can't help but think that original idea of selling this game at full price hurt it a lot even after the shift to a PS Plus release. I'm sure it was a factor in some review scores even if the reviewers won't admit it.
they should do this with returnal BEFORE it launches
If Sony is pushing for the pc market I feel like this would be a good game for it. $20 is reasonable and would keep the lobbies full.
Ouch i feel sorry for who ever brought it before the Ps Plus announcement.
Btw, I do think it is good value - it's not my favorite game ever but it's still fun in short bursts and it's very good on a technical level (including excellent use of DualSense features)
Is this also what Fall Guys was going for after Plus? Sounds about right to me.
Good luck with that
@TrueAssassin86x they refunded all pre-orders, including physical
@Voltan Now that's commitment to your audience. Hopefully, they'll continue to listen to feedback, cause I don't want this game to suffer the same fate as Drawn to Death.
@Voltan agree..... if Fall Guys can be priced at 20 then this game can also be price at 20.
I'm not even a fan of multiplayer games but this is probably one of my favourite PS Plus games and played it nearly every day.I personally think this is a great asking price.
Well. Good move. This wasn't worth €80.
Wait, was it not for sale outside of PS Plus? I thought they kept the €70 pricetag. Weird.
I think $20 should be the go to pricing for most multiplayer-only experiences nowadays (unless it's F2P), since most of them are laden with microtransactions and paid skins and whatnot anyhow.

THANK GOD IT ISN'T THE FULL 70
@MemSec a lot of people assumed that (and to be fair Sony never really clarified it) but it launched exclusive to PS Plus
$70 for this game is crazy, $20 is the perfect price.
What they were thinking when they priced this low quality online game with $70
Jim Ryan is totally disaster and moron
@Amppari fully agree. That price is seriously going to hurt the games sales.
This is good news but still overpriced. Sony needs to stick with what they’re good at. Imagine Xbox making a strictly single player focused action game (before hellblade 2) it would be the laughing stock of the industry!
There's lots of strange contradictions going on with this game. You need PS+ to play it and it's been given away with the sub already, so surely nearly everyone who had a passing interest in this already has it in their library. Yet, now they want to gate any new subs with a price for a game that will desperately need as many people playing as possible to keep it going. The pricing, release and marketing for this has been all over the place.
If you do pay for it you should at least get everything that's behind the gross currency as part of that.
One down. $70 won’t hold. Now they just need to make other games $60. After Plus it would have felt like a rip-off at that price. Nor is it worth that much.
@Voltan
Interesting, thanks!
It seems to me they added microtransactions after the low pre-orders and decided that it will be added to ps plus. This however led to the conundrum that they can’t offer it as a free-to-play title (which the monetization would suggest), but have to stick an arbitrary price on it, because plus titles need to have “value”.🤑
@Amppari returnal is a £40 game at worst, 20 is just being mean
still hard to believe sony expected people to pay $90CAD for this game lol... just, wow. talk about being out of touch.
@Porco i think this is why Sony admitted that their take on online multiplayer games have been rough as of lately. A shame cause they gave us some gems like Everybody's Golf.
Great value? $20 is what it should have been priced at all along. No idea how they ever thought it was a full retail AAA game in the first place.
I was bored after a couple of matches personally. Being free on PS+ was the only reason it got that much attention from me.
I really hope the upcoming Housemarque game Returnal isn't another case of over inflated value. They want $120 for that here in Australia...
I still think $20 way too much for this game, it should be FTP at minimum. I personally wouldn't touch it again even if Sony paid me the $20, I would rather play a Bluepoint remake of Lair.
The same will happen quickly with Knockout City, the game everyone hates on. 😉
This is great news, hopefully they do the same thing with Returnal before launch (as well as offer that game on PS+).
