@Philbop I'm sure they originally wanted to release it earlier but everything gets delayed lately, for obvious reasons.

June is good, I still have to finish jedi fo, division 2 & new york expansion story mode, and genshin impact story.

Oh look another game that the 5 people who aren’t bots that own a PS5 can play.

I really got into the other Ratchet and Clank games recently so can't wait to play this. Will just have to decide if it's worth paying full price for though. Really hoping that there's plenty more PS5 stock at retailers soon so you guys who haven't managed to get one yet can grab one.

@nessisonett kind of funny for me, I live in a third world country but I managed to get a PS5 on pre-sale, I think Sony sent around 2000 units for the first pre-sale. Crazy stuff to be able to get one, not possible in my wildest dreams in the first 6 monts, let alone launch day.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get a Ps5 by then!

@nessisonett Jeez.. lets be honest, scalpers are an annoyance but they're a minority of the sales going through. Demand is outstripping supply.

Its as simple as that.

I've managed to get 3 since launch and of the 20 or so psn friends I have which have a PS5, none have bought from a scalper. Not to absolve scalpers but its becoming a meme with the folk going on about them constantly.

Now please, can Sony gives us the realease dates for GT7 and Horizon Forbidden West? And Maybe God of War Ragnarok to?

Hardly a steal, but a tad better than £70!
I pre-ordered for £58 after using some of my points accumulated over time with them.

This could well be the point I buy a ps5.

Ratchet & Clank baby! This is one of the few games I don’t mind pre-ordering with how good Insomniac has been lately and my love for this franchise.

I’m loving how quickly the exclusives are pumping out to start the PS5’s lifecycle. Looking forward to playing this and Returnal very soon.

I'd buy a PS5 bundle for $500 Jun 11th if it included a code for the game, free is good. Considering the chip problem no longer expecting any good deals before Christmas now though.

Pre-ordered it at my local games store (I'm a physical guy ) when it was first announced. June can't come soon enough. Now we need a Gran Turismo release date. When, Sony? When!? Oh, the agony!

Even if we believe the numbers of the author (admittedly obtained through as scientific an approach as they could muster) 15% of the supply is nothing to ignore (and the article freely admits this) In fact if another 1 out of 5 users on this site were able to get a PS5, complaints would calm down a decent amount, I’d venture.

Basically, two wrongs don’t make a right . In fact, I would argue in a supply constrained world where each Unit is scarce due to high demand and constricted supply that it’s the exact perfect scenario to call for a cessation of anything that adds additional strain to the system such as scalping. If scalpers and bots are blocking legit purchase of apples or kale then I’m not going to complain. When it’s adding extra strain to admittedly severe shortages that’s the very time to be intolerant of it being in practice (in my humble opinion)

Also - Sure, money-grabbing scalpers are easy enough to vilify, but take into account that people have actually had to become dedicated online stalking experts to obtain one is also part of the story. Users on here in the forums (and someone up there in this thread) are getting multiple units and giving or selling them to family and friends. Everyone keeps telling me how easy it is to get them and it’s just not my reality. The system is broken.

Nice that no other games we know of are coming out in june so Ratchet will have some time to shine

Fingers crossed that by the fact that Sony is putting this out there in June that means they're optimistic that they'll have a lot more PS5s sold into the hands of actual gamers by that point. It would be foolish to release it when almost no one still has one, and therefore no one buys it at full price.

I'd love to actually own a PS5 so that I can buy it at release, but I'm not going to get too hopeful any more.

@themightyant Thanks, and I guess we’ll just add it to the broken system that is the distribution of the COVID vaccine. Same situation, higher stakes. At least in the States here it’s like the same swarms of people are stalking every distributor imaginable trying to get on waiting lists for a chance at the vaccine. There’s just not enough of it.

Anyways, back on topic - I’d definitely buy Ratchet & Clank on release if I had a PS5. Do you hear me Sony? Send me console and I’ll happily buy your game on day 1! 😄

June is right around the time I figured we'd get the game. Don't know if it's really 'launch window' but it's a heck of a lot sooner than we got R&C for PS4 so this is fine with me. Day one purchase, obviously.

I got a PS5 pre- order in but it took a lot of time and persistence. Started trying at 5PM when sales started to go live. I stayed online till I got a order in at 3AM. I had full intentions to go to a local store and line up at 4AM.

Always been x box but now have a PS5 and therefore I’ve never played Ratchett and Clank ever.
Is the PS4 one worth playing through?
Gets decent reviews and it’s free on PS Plus but just wanted someone’s opinion

No limited editions so I'll be monitoring retail prices and order when it's low enough (or just before launch)

An update from Playstation Blog clarifies that you will be able to purchase a deluxe upgrade from the PS Store, for those of us who still prefer buying physical copies!

“For those of you who like physical discs, don’t fear, as there is an upgrade option for owners of the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Standard Edition to allow you to purchase the content included in the Digital Deluxe. For both physical and digital versions of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, there will be an in-game menu prompt guiding players to make the upgrade through PlayStation Store.”

FINALLY. This is not exactly what I consider "Launch Window" Best news I have heard all week. Only thing that would make this better? Re-release the first game with new trophies to go along with the new game on PS5

@rjejr If June is what they meant by Launch Window, I wonder what they meant for GoW2, HzD2, GT7 "2021"? They'll only have 6 months to deliver the entire launch roster as stated. Maybe it's like Year of Dreams. Year 1 PS4, coming soon, FF7R....(arriving in about 7 years....)

@NEStalgia None of those are coming out in 2021. If GoW2 does it's only b/c it's like an 12 hour part 2 of 3 filler game and the trilogy won't end for another 3 years.

@NEStalgia Well I still haven't' played GoT so I'm not sure how it ends, but I'm not talking about sequels, I'm talking about literally the first part of a game. B/c despite what everyone else around here says, if you make a game that has a hub device that can take you to 8 other worlds, but in the first part of the game you can only go to 5 of those, and the whole game is leading up to fighting the biggest baddest Norse gods, but you never fight any of those, it isn't a stand alone game, it's part 1.

TLoU2 had a hard ending. It didn't need a sequel. I'm fine that it got one, another game I haven't' played yet, but the first game ended fine. Same for the Uncharted games. I'm fine w/ sequels, I'm a big James Bond guy, and none of those were sequels, until the new movies, and the more sequelly they got, the worse they got, but for the most part, sequels don't necessarily mean a game or movie is broken up into parts.

And are you really complaining about Sony making video game sequels when the biggest games in the business are CoD and FIFA? 😝

@rjejr cod and fifa don't have any sequels. It's just been remasters and mods of the first game for decades.

Funny you'd mention bond, I just finished hitman 3 and have always loved the bond vibe of it. I'm going to miss hitman. One of the best games off the decade. Shame it's going away for a while. But I'm psyched about the same team working on an actual bond game!

That's a very overall generic statement. GoW 3 was only about 6 hours long. Most people complained about the length for a $60 game, but everybody played it anyway b/c GoW.

The new GoW was about 40 hours or so, probably much longer if you tried to beat all of the Valkyries and other side stuff. So if a new game cam eout at only 12 hours and dind't end w/ you battling Thor or Odin, then the 3rd game comes out and it's 40 hours and you get to fight both Thor and ODin, then yeah, that 12 hour game is going to look like filler.

Though I do think it's been long enough, as you say, 4 years, that this won't be the case, if it doesn't end the story hopefully we can at least end it by killing Thor, I don't think in the land of videogames you can generalize about length being the determining factor in what's filler. Not that it can't be a factor, Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty was 5 hour filler between 4 and 5, or 3 and 4, or something, but it wasn't a full game, even if it did have a beginning, middle and end, it was filler between the full games.

@rjejr the Netflix miniseries seems to be the template for gaming. I'm not enjoying it. And it's only a matter of time before Firefly becomes that template.

Or is it series? To me a series starts in October and ends in May Sweeps and has about 20 episodes unless there's a writers strike. Not sure when we started getting "series"that start in February into April.

Frist, NF doesn't do "miniseries", as you pointed out, they just do "series". (Really "seasons" here in the US, in the UK they call a "season" a "series" and every year they have a new series of the same show and it took me about 3 years to figure that out.) But second, they don't start in February and end in April, on NF they start at midnight and end at 12:01. Every "season" on NF - whether it's 8, 10 or 12 episodes, releases all at once. Disney, HBO, Amazon et al do the once a week thing whenever they feel like it. You're welcome. 😉

@rjejr IDK last time i watched a tv seriason, ALF was still trendy. . Maybe Home Improvement. Not much beyond that aside from a few dvd sereason sets i bought later.

24 hours in a day, 7 days a week, plenty of time for both TV and gaming if you wanted to. Not that you should, most tv sux. but most games sux too so...

Games don't sux. They eventually don't sux, after about 3 years, 15 patches, and the rest of the content being released. TV just sux foreverz.
