Since Sony is yet to officially patch PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne with 60 frames-per-second support, well-known modder Lance McDonald has now released his unofficial update on his Patreon page. He told the world of his plans to go public with the sought-after patch back in October last year, stating: "Out of respect for PlayStation, I want them to have the first chance to put 60 frames-per-second Bloodborne into the hands of players". Since that hasn't happened as of February 2021, McDonald has now made the update freely available for everyone to download. The kicker is that you'll need a modded PS4 to do so.

Bloodborne must be running on version 1.09 (the latest one) for this to work, and as soon as the 60FPS patch is applied successfully, the FromSoftware classic will have its frame rate doubled at a resolution of 1280x720. You can get a peek at what that looks like in the video embedded above, with the upgrade achieved by utilising code found in Dark Souls III. While we wait to see if Sony will ever put out an update for the title included in the PS Plus Collection, this patch can be considered the next best thing by those who have the capabilities to get it up and running.
