The weather's really beginning to brighten up and it's glorious. Unfortunately, the world's still no where near back to normal, and while we're feeling more optimistic these days – well, it's still a bit too soon for normality, isn't it? Here's hoping we're finally on a more positive path at least, though, eh?

Now I've finished my MLB The Show 21 review, I'm just enjoying playing the game while I wait for Returnal to release. I feel like I could complement the baseball with a short or easy indie game, so if anyone has any suggestions I'm open to something mindless and fun.
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
I'll be hacking and slashing my way through NieR Replicant this weekend so that I can bring you lot a review as soon as possible. I played the original NieR what feels like a lifetime ago (and I wasn't a massive fan of anything but the music), so I'm expecting a weirdly nostalgic experience.
Liam Croft, Assistant Editor
I’m kind of just killing time until Resident Evil Village review code comes through, so I won’t be starting any new games. Instead, I’ll check out the newly revamped Verdansk map in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Phew! Now the PS3 and PS Vita's stores are staying open, I'll ease off panic buying, and plan some sensible purchases for the future instead. As a bonus, I'll put any money saved towards the physical release of Battle Axe – which is a top-down, Henk Nieborg pixel art game that Numskull Games provided digitally for a PS4 Mini Review.
That's what we're busy beavering away with this weekend, but what about you? What are you playing? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

Still doing side quests in Crosscode, then maybe I'll have a chance at beating that whale!
Well I'm definitely gonna play the new re8 demo, play some Bloodborne, and then play Hunt Showdown.
I've been going through Days Gone again on PS5. It still doesn't particularly thrill me, but it's undeniably technically better compared to the buggy, poorly optimized launch version. The smooth 60 fps is a very welcome improvement. Also, I'm excited to try out the RE Village castle demo.
On the PC side, I've been getting back into Titanfall 2 multiplayer with a group of friends since Wednesday, and I've been having an amazing time. For my money, it's the single greatest multiplayer I've ever played, bar none. I was ecstatic to see it still had a pretty thriving player base as far as the brilliant Attrition mode.
I've also recently been playing Stardew Valley daily. It's maybe my favorite game to simply chill out to. I love how freakishly addictive its gameplay loop is, and it brings both simple and hard-earned pleasures every time I play it. Great stuff.
Gonna try and finish MGS4 and Persona 5 Royal this week so I can dive into Returnal without guilt. But FF14 and the RE8 demo are calling my name, not to mention Apex Legends. Too many games, not enough time :,(.
Happy gaming fam! Stay Blessed!
Having finished both Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted The Lost Legacy earlier this week I've entered a bit of a lull so have gone back to Shadow of War. I'll keep with this until I've finished it or had my fill for the time and start something else.
It's alright, would've been better if it had been a more linear game imo but it does have it's charms in particular riding a Graug, never boring!
I'll be watching the LC Final tomorrow, probably from behind the sofa, hoping that Mason's Blue & White Army can end our trophy drought. City massive favourites but if they have an eye on PSG midweek and we get a bit of luck then maybe we can do it.
@get2sammyb Not sure if you own a Switch but look into Akane on the eShop, very fun little game.
Been winding down a few games over the past few weeks before Returnal and Resident Evil land.
Thinking hard about Assassin's Creed Valhalla though. Maybe later in the summer when there's time...
For now I'll just be dabbling in some Blaspehmous again.
Still MHWorld. Whooping beautifully-designed monsters and crafting lovely gear. Being playing since 2019 and yet to beat it because I go off it when I meet that monster which requires a bit more grinding, this time though I'm on it for a long time. Then it's some LA Noire, probably FC3 and RDRII.
Pretty much the same as last week, more of Yakuza Like a Dragon and MGS3 Snake Eater. Both still awesome.
Onimusha warlords one of the best ps2 games ever.playing the ps4 remastered.kingdom of amalur re reckoning.one of the best ps3 games ever made.playing the remastered version.dragon age inquisition goty edition.one of the best ps4 games ever made.2014 goty.and farkest dungeon best indie games ever made.back to the pit.word up son
Playing through Horizon again but this time with the DLC and all the good stuff that come with the complete edition.
Fallout 4 in glorious 60fps on Series S.
Red Dead Online on PS4.
Thinking of re-playing Sleeping Dogs to chase that Platinum for a nice easy weekend. Apart from that I bought Immortals Fenyx Rising in the sale and I'm unsure if I need another 100 hour game at this present time. 😂😂😂
I decided to give Borderlands 3 another go through PS Now (after probably a year break) and I really got into it. I’m close to finishing the main story now I think.
‘You couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo’ (in an Irish accent) might be my favourite saying ever 🤣
I'm committing Night City to memory. I can't help it. I WANT to play something else, but I keep getting sucked back in. By the time I think I can leave it alone for a while, another patch comes out and it keeps getting better. Cheers.
Having returned to Playstation after a brief stint with Xbox I'm playing GT Sport and Persona 5 (for the first time). Gotta say I'm loving Persona 5 and I'm not a big fan of jrpgs Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Destruction allstars and Tony Hawk's ps5.
@ApostateMage
Fallout 4 is great! How is it at 60fps, did it lose it's stutter?
Going to finish off Grand Theft Auto V and then maybe move onto Diablo III or BioShock Infinite!
Mainly going to be playing some more Monster Hunter Rise, and get started on the high rank quests.
@LordSteev It's a game changer mate. No stutter whatsoever, even with vertibirds flying around the skyscrapers of downtown Boston, it remains smooth. Looks really clear and crisp too.
Can't wait to play Cyberpunk 2077 again with a stable 60fps.
I'm really hoping to get started on control. I've got the ps5 version downloaded ready and I have next week off work. I've not really had much play time on my ps5 even though I've had it a while now due to work being so busy. So I really want to take advantage of my time while my wife's at work and kids are split between university and school.
I've decided this gen to start and finish my single player games before moving on and hopefully not buying a huge backlog and just buying when I need or close to needing a new game. I probably won't Inc driving, fighting and multiplayer games in this as I tend to buy them as they release as I like to have one of each the go when the community is there to complete with.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Switch - Shantae marathon now that the entire series is on one console!
PS4 - Weekly GTA Online session with friends!
PC - Might start up Team Fortress 2! Haven't done so in quite a while lol.
Have a good weekend, everyone.
Playing Judgment. Only judgment. Phenomenal game.
@ApostateMage
That's great to hear! I'm going to fork out some cash this generation for an Xbox and a PS5. Got to have my Bethesda!
@gollumb82 Persona is too good, it's gonna end up being one of your favorites of all time. Enjoy the music!
I’m playing Nier Replicant, it’s nothing special so far but it’s kinda weird and I like kinda weird. Hopefully it gets weirder.
I’ll be playing the Resident Evil demo and possibly some Ratchet and Clank, in hopes to finish it before Rift Apart... even with all the exciting games coming soon.
@kyleforrester87
It's been awhile, but I remember it getting plenty weird. And in a good way. Fun game, hope you like it.
For me it's the Final jours of Uncharted 4, before going back to GT Sport for a bit and ponder on a new game to play 🙂
Nier Replicant for me. I wasn't going to get the game as I fell off Automata, but a few previews convinced me that there should be a lot for me to like in both games. About an hour in - far too early to have an opinion - but it seems promising.
I'm trying to puah through RESI7 after buying it at launch and playing like 20% after being too scared and giving up!
God, give me strength to finish it before Resi 8
3.5 hours into Nier Replicant, I’m loving it so far. The side quests are lackluster, occasionally the game shows that it was from the PS3/360 era, and occasionally it can be a bit janky, but none of that has taken away from my enjoyment of it. The combat is fast and fluid, I’m really excited to see where this, so far, excellent story goes, and the music is stunning.
Closing in on the platty for ratchet and clank into the nexus. 750 000 bolts and two weapons left to max out. After that I’m not sure what to do.
Nier Replicant for the most part while still chipping away at Trails in the Sky on Vita. Might also hop on some SFV too to put Rose through the paces.
Marvel Avengers, had to setup an square enix account to gain access to more content, had been unable to progress a mission chain for a week, so will now be able to continue with that.
Star Wars Squadrons on PS4 along with questing in Cyberpunk. Also back to playing Half Life 2 and the episodes on PC. Literally THE greatest game ever made. Still.
Otherwise, working. Oh the joys
Have a good weekend guys ❤ ❤
Played some outer wilds last night for the first time, gorgeous! Between work and family ill not have any time today but I'm jonesing for it big time
AC Valhalla still, it seems to be a never ending game
ps4 backlog this weekend but next week I will finally play ghost and miles morales on glorious ps5
I got my nier replicant copy but don't want to play it until I'm done with Kingdom Hearts 3 which has been great fun so far
Don't understand some of the criticism it got although I know its been updated so it's not the exact same game as it was at launch
Monster Hunter Rise and NieR Replicant.
Also trying to to get my backlog sorted out.
I feel like playing Spider Man Miles Morales on PS5 some more Oddworld Soulstorm and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I managed to get Finch, my favourite Blade in the entire game. If I'm in the mood after all of that I might start Nier Replicant too.
Nier Replicant. I played the original to death back in the day so it's nice to return all these years later, still an amazing game. Really liking the improved combat and the graphical makeover but the new character model for Kainé is awful, and they butchered the OST, the remixed tracks aren't a patch on the original ones. They should have left the music well alone.
Continuing with Control on PS5. I didn’t expect to like this game as much as I do. I can’t believe we got this given out on PS Plus.
Just finished Persona 5 Strikers last night after about 50 hours.
Absolutely loved it. Really fun musou game, despite the last bit of the game feeling really familiar to the last bit of Persona 5 but I digress, it's still a fantastic game.
Not entirely sure what I'll start now that P5S is finished. Either Oddworld Soulstorm or Nier Replicant.
Finally going to start Control this weekend.
I’m deep into the excellent Disco Elysium but just picked up A Plague Tale: Innocence for £11(!) in the sale so might fire it up; also grabbed Persona 5 Royal for my next long play after recently getting the Valhalla plat.
The Walking Dead: Season Two (Vita) - Starting up again, due to boredom That is the excuse I'm using.
Battleship (Windows Phone) - Still a blast to play.
Gerbil Physics (Windows Phone) - Getting more on a roll with this.
I've got a 2D retro itch to scratch at the moment. I was playing Flashback earlier in the week but found it horrendously clunky even by the standards of the time (I grew up with 80s/90s 16-bit games), so I've sadly given up on it. Now playing Axiom Verge and loving it. It's scratching the itch nicely 😃
Decided to give horizon zero dawn another try and i am really enjoying it..
Hi there fellow gamers.
I finally decided to play Spiderman Remastered on PS5 with my PS4 save file and started a new game plus on hard mode and man, the 60 fps ray trace mode makes such a difference as I am playing.
Plus having everything unlocked, including the amazing outfits, just makes the game even more fun for me.
Then on PC I´m playing more fighting games like Killer Instinct, Under Night and Mortal Kombat 11, since I watched the
MK 2021 movie last night. It´s pretty good actualy.
Finally on Switch I´ve decided to take a break from Bravely Default 2 to go back to Bayonetta for some wicked portable whooping 😉
Cheers, stay safe, folks and happy gaming weekend to us all
I'll be playing a lot of Nier Replicant. Three or so hours in, its definitely not as good as Automata, but it's so much more fun than the base game. I hope people warm up to it the way they did for Automata.
Chrono Trigger on Wii Virtual Console. Now I have a working classic controller I can finally see how good it is.
Got Saints Row 3 Remastered on PS4 in the sale, so enjoying some absurdity there... Also been going back to my C64 recently for some retro gaming, Platoon and Batman the Movie are two favourites from Ocean I still enjoy to play, great SID tunes too.
Street Fighter V, I’m really enjoying playing as Rose.
Dark Souls 3! On NG+
I just watched the Wulff Den play Super Mario 64 Plus on PC. I know what I'm playing this weekend.
PS5 - Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Switch - Monster Hunter: Rise
Finished up god of war last night soo I’m either starting shadow of the colossus or ratchet and clank tonight. Not decided yet 🤔
Grinding on Bloodborne, occasional races on Project cars 3, hopefully more progress on Shadow of War and possibly some Just Cause 4.
Have a gud un peeps
I nabbed a PS5 recently and it's my first Sony console since the PS2, so I'm really just catching up on all the cool stuff I missed! I'll be playing through Horizon Zero Dawn, which I started earlier this week, and man is it amazing!
I started Resident Evil 3, looking forward to some laid back zombie killing, because they're notoriously slow, right? I got the rudest of awakenings by Nemesis.
MLB The Show 21 (Series X). It feels good to have a proper baseball game on Xbox.
Call of Duty Cold War (Series X) Season 3 started time to check out the new maps and build up that battle pass.
Not on a PS5 that's for sure ...
Currently playing NieR Replicant and absolutely loving it so far. Never played the original so it's a first-time for me.
@TheArt I've also recently got back into MHWorld including Iceborne. PM me or add my PSN if you ever want to casual hunt. I main Gunlance. I rarely use a mic though, because kids... - Warspite2901
Spent most of the day outside in the sun at my sister in-laws to celebrate her 40th. Tonight though I'll be playing Trails of Cold Steel!
@Warspite2901 I'm enjoying it so much this time round I'm looking to pick up Iceborne some time. It's rather unfortunate I don't have PS+ so I can't partner anybody, I go it alone, well with my Palico, Tailraider and some other hypnotized monster lol. I'ma add you though.
I'll be starting jedi fallen order in the next 10-15 mins 👍👍
Im going to be playing Neir Replicant just picked it up friday ans been waiting to play it badly. Love the original game on the ps3
Killing time until Returnal's release by finally getting into Metal Gear Solid. I'd say I'm halfway through now and I'm really enjoying it! Can't wait to get into the series more!
Nioh 2 remaster & CW Zombies (it still crashes on PS5).
Horizon: Zero Dawn
PS4 Pro
Only 5 hours in, goofing around exploring the world and hunting the robot monsters but it's quite the game. Really does make use of the PS4 Pro's extra horsepower and I'm very surprised how much they've been able to squeeze out of the console - even with checkerboarding the image is super sharp and yummy looking in 4K. I like the way Aloy's inner monologue is spoken out to the player so you know how she feels about a particular situation. And the video game world really does need more female badasses - I used to count Lara Croft as one but since the reboots, sure, there's character development to make her more complex and real however she comes across as unsure of herself, whereas Aloy strikes me so far as overall more confident even though some doubts etc linger in the background. Really a very polished game that steals an hour from you without you even realising - the "just one more quest" thing any good open world presents where you find it hard to pull yourself away from the immersive experience.
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Zombies Mode)
Xbox One X
Nothing beats a good round of co-op on this old beast. I recently looked at the tech specs for the Xbox 360 version and although it is superior to the PS3 version it's actually rendering the game below 720p. I wonder how many games of that era were struggling to render the games above 600p or so even when the Xbox 360 itself was outputting to 1080p. Probably quite a few. My guess is the HD consoles were often that in name only... even now we're seeing the same sort of thing with DRS, that a game renders 1080p-1440p or so and then the result is scaled to fit 4K. Still, it's a big improvement. And there's more to games than resolution, after all...
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Xbox One X
Had less time with it this week but been on Skellige doing side missions and some main quest ones like The Last Wish. I had Enemy Scaling set to ON and it makes the djinn ridiculously strong, so I ended up dying 20 times before looking up and finding this out online. Switch it off and... way too easy. I just figured originally that the idea was the djinn would be tricky on any level/difficulty due to being a super powerful genie but no, game bug. 😂
@Loftimus Have you had any problems with Destruction Allstar’s matchmaking?
It worked fine for me until a month ago, the matchmaking fails on every attempt since. No matter what mode I pick.
NieR Replicant of course! Can we get a playthrough finished before Returnal releases next Friday? And can we finish a run in Returnal before RE8 releases the following Friday?! Probably not to all of those things, but it is a beautiful time to be alive gaming!
Hope you all have a happy weekend gaming, I enjoy reading everyone's journeys on here
@TraCuz- You got this! I loved P5 Royal, got the Platinum in 146 hours, man it's a really good game and I can't wait to see what they do for Persona 6. Also, I'm really looking forward to Returnal as well! Happy gaming
@Korgon Really good choices! I have been itching to get into the Trails series, but have been holding out hoping that they'd come to PSN or Switch. I'm also enjoying Nier, super solid so far have a great weekend gaming!
I finally beat the Berlin Classic Challenges in Hitman 3, but the Elusive Target looks interesting. Still haven't returned to HZD for the DLC content, probably because I don't really it to be over.
my ps4 may just be a twitch/netflix box as usual this weekend.
NieR Replicant and loving everything about it including the changes/ additions... Turns out that I barely remember anything but the major story beats from playing Gestalt a decade ago.
So far Horizon Zero Dawn and might just give TLOU Remastered a whirl tonight
Still subnautica for me not had much gaming time so would like to progress the story a bit. Oh and I finally caved and bought beat saber so will jump back into psvr too
@ItsATM i'm on Europe servers. Sometimes i have to wait a minute or two for first match, then i have no problems after. Hopefully more people will get back on it when the season starts.
Amazon Had Marvel Avengers on sale for $24.99 Even with the bad press on the game I figured what the heck. I am waiting on that to arrive. I am still playing Diablo Seasons and earned the dragon pet already.
MLB: The Show 21 (Xbox One X)
Octopath Traveler (Xbox One X)
Red Faction: Guerilla (PC)
Sakura Wars (Sega Saturn - English Patch)
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L I've not got a PS5 yet but I've been watching my mate play through Demon's Souls on Twitch and he's exactly the same. He was absolutely sailing through NG+ until he hit the Flamelurker. You're certainly not alone!
Playing Outriders and a bit of Destruction AllStars on the PS5. Also playing some Soul Sacrifice Delta on the Vita. My copy of Nier Replicant arrived but I want to finish Outriders first before I start that
@ApostateMage just got a series S excited to play some older titles woth the FPS boost!
Nier Replicant - PS5
MLB That Show - PS5 and Game Pass Xcloud (testing it today)
Not being stuck (yet again) with a no-name Baseball games on the Nintendo Switch is worth my Game Pass subscription alone.
@ItsATM Yeah I'm super excited for the next game. Thing I'm looking forward to most is how they push the title in a technical manner seeing that Persona 5 was developed to be able to run on PS3. So I imagine Persona 6 is gonna come out on PS4/PS5, hoping the hardware boost means something to making the game more interesting.
The Pathless (PS5)
Great Little adventure title, not much combat apart from bus fights and not too much collectible hunting. 15 hour platinum, great for a weekend. I'm 3 trophies off the plat myself
@Hootnoodle unless you are playing all 3 days, you won't get the plat on Sleeping Dogs in a weekend. I played 5 days solid with no sleep to get the 1K on Xbox One.
Now to do the plat on my PS5.
@AnthonyStark86 the zombies in the starting area go about 150mph on Inferno mode. It's not even funny it's ridiculous
still playing divinity 2, great game
some one are playing nier? The game is good?
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Oh yeah I forgot about those guys. Well, just remember - if you can complete a Souls game, you can platinum it
@NemesisSam30 in fairness I'm about 5 trophies away from the Platinum for Sleeping dogs, and I need one or two from the dlc to completely wipe it up. But I like to go back from the beginning even though I have played it multiple times. It's like a warm hug in a sense. But I actually ended up playing Dragon Quest in the end as I was halfway through, but decided to restart 😂😂😂😂.
@Hootnoodle ah OK fair enough
Still grinding through Valhalla, 85hrs in now and getting close to campaign end then will be going back to wrap up remaining collectables and trophies. Bit of days gone on Stream also 😊😊😊
