Sony has announced yet another partnership with a new developer to make a new IP under its wing for PlayStation consoles. Deviation Games is making a "brand-new original IP", and that's just about all we know.
As part of a PlayStation Blog post, CEO Dave Anthony said: "While I can confirm development is already underway, it’s really early for us to be going into specific details. We’re drawing on what we’ve learned over our collective decades making games, but we’re also out to make something fresh and brimming with innovation like you’ve never experienced before. We’re not afraid to say that our ambitions are super high: we’re setting out to make a huge, content-rich game with a focus on a lot of action and a lot of energy, but let’s leave it at that for now and hopefully it won’t be long before we can share more."
Alongside Jason Blundell, who is best known for his work on the Call of Duty franchise, Deviation Games has already grown to be over 100 employees. "To our fans, particularly those who’ve followed some of our team members’ past work over the years: thank you for all your support, particularly now as we venture into creating something for ourselves."

Man Sony's been allying with a lot of up and coming developers as of late haven't they? Pretty smart win win scenario for both the developer looking to gain exposure and resources, and Sony looking for some good exclusive content to add to their library
This was so anti climactic 🤣 "we've got something huge planned.... but we're not revealing it yet. You may enjoy our logo, bye!"
I think these collaborations with Deviation, Haven and Firewalk are Sony's way of getting into online MP live service style games without taking their first party Devs off what they do best. It's probably also a test ground to see if they can become a future Playstation studio. No wonder XDev have expanded.
Ok. Who the hell are they?
It could be pretty much anything but sounds kinda promising 😉
This is a weird announcement, just announce the game when it's nearly ready.
I was first excited they announced a ground breaking AAA new IP on twitter but the mention of 'action' and 'energy' makes me think it could be something like Destruction All Star?
Hopefully it's more like PlayStation story driven games though. (Which I'm still hoping because they praised PS games for their quality and being huge hits.)
This isn't an JRPG Jim. 🤦♂️ *****. And this game is not coming out till 2025 and they out here parading them around just cuz they COD devs.😒 More JP devs please!
@Feena ex Black Ops developers mostly I believe
@-Sigma- yes more JRPG development and there is a gap for western RPG too that they could potentially fill.
Not a fan of their logo, whoever designed that crap needs sacking 😂
@vapidwolf - As an Artist I think the logo is fine, it's simple in it's design, not every studio logo needs to be overly flashy or overdesigned, sometimes a simple design like this is all you need.
When this image was dropped during the show, I thought for a second PlayStation had acquired this newly formed studio.
What is this studio known for? Have the developed any other game y'all know?
@JustPlainLoco it just looks like something hacked together with picsart 😂
