Carrion was announced for "consoles" all the way back at E3 2019, with an expected 2020 release date. Obviously that never happened, but the self-proclaimed "reverse-horror" game is finally scurrying onto PlayStation 4 later this year.
Carrion sees you play as an amorphous, multi-tentacled monster with a hunger for human flesh. It's part platformer, part puzzler, as you'll need to navigate cramped environments using your alien abilities. Armed guards will fight back, so it's all about stealthy approaches and pinpoint murder, instilling fear in your prey before snacking on them. Gruesome.

Been waiting for this one to hit PlayStation for an eternity! Just looks so cool!
Not gonna lie, this looks pretty cool to me. @ShogunRok will there be a PushSquare review of it?
Fantastic. Even tweeted Devolver the other day asking if it was ever coming.
I played it when it came out and it was just OK. The map was horrible and it just kinda ended. Also with some irritating solutions to certain puzzles. Movement feels fantastic though.
@Turismo4GT Yeah, we'll try to have a review!
Completed this on Steam. Short but pretty awesome.
Im more the guy that wants to stop it but looks nasty so i guess they made it work. 😁
Played this on GamePass and then bought it physically on Switch. Great game and good to see it reaching a bigger audience.
I started this on Switch, the concept is amazing, and eating humans as a monster is really fun. However the map, is unnecessarily convoluted and easy to get lost on, and it's pretty hard to find your way back on the path.
It is ok. Played it on GamePass. It wasa quick gap filler between game releases
I played it twice (on Xbox and pc) they had separate achivement lists and enjoyed both times so looks like 3rd time is the charm
Wait this wasn’t on ps4 yet? I know it’s part of gamepass on xbox as it’s one of the games I am planning on playing once I buy the XSX later this month. (Yes I’m going fully multiplatform.)
Good news! I’d rather play this on Playstation rather then Xbox and their gimp controller!
I got really excited to play this in the lead up to its release. Then they pulled the ps4 version suggested in the earlier trailers and we've heard nothing from them for over a year. With no new information on a PS4 release until now, hype levels have already died down and I've moved on. I can't be the only one who feels this way with so much else to play. Timed exclusivity can be a risky game.

Pretty sure it launched on Switch and Xbox last year, both of which are consoles.
I have this on gamepass pc, it's pretty good. Traversing in the game is a bit hassle though since there's no minimap, I hope the devs add map to the game.
Skipped Playstation and released on literally every other platform last year. I don’t really care if it sounds petty, you skip my preferred platform and you’re not getting a dime from me. I have still never bought Rise of the Tomb Raider either.
@__jamiie same here! Player on game pass and loved it! Got a physical collectors edition Switch release because it was so good I felt the devs deserved more money!
Also what is this bit in the article about it never launching on consoles? It came to 2 consoles!
Been waiting for this too! Whether it was initiated by Devolver/devs or by Xbox clearly they had a timed exclusive having it published anywhere else bar playstation as their normally vocal twitter were rather silent on ps4/5 ports.
Wonder if we'll ever see Katana Zero-been in much the same boat with playstation version falling off the radar.
I'll be honest, thought this game had already released on PS4 ages ago...but will definitely try it out.
@DeepSpace5D I don't think it sounds petty at all. I think every game should be available immediately on whichever platform you've chosen otherwise that developer deserves to go bankrupt. And it makes perfect sense to never play a game (even when it does become available on your favourite machine) just so the developer knows that, for you, it's day one or never.
Grow up.
@__jamiie Nice try with the strawman there. Never did I claim they deserve to go bankrupt, that’s all you. I’m simply communicating with my wallet that if you want my purchase then launch day 1 on the platform that I use. There’s no animosity in me towards this company or any other, and I will never run out of other games to play.
There’s nothing wrong with voting with your wallet as a consumer.
@Robocod I don't think you understand what timed exclusive means... Clearly if it's been on Xbox and switch since last year nobody is paying for timed exclusivity. Maybe the faults more on Sony and how they treat Indies rather than Xbox? Crazy I know
